The law states you are entitled to 20 days a year prorata. An employer can include bank holidays in this. So if your part time 15 days maybe correct. If your full time your employer is acting illegally . Your employer can make you take your leave to suit him so hes doing nothing wrong in making you keep some for Xmas.If hes acting illegally you need to contact ACAS.

Hiya Katie. Give Citizens Advice a quick ring and they'll keep you right. It used to be 4 weeks plus bank holidays and that was law. Even if you had signed a contract, companies can't take advantage of that and have to give you your legal entitlement. The fact that you haven't makes it even easier. Good Luck. xx

From 1 Oct the minimum holiday entitlement in the UK is 24 days which includes Bank Holidays (7days). Your employer has the right to specify when you can and can't take holidays.
If the contract states fewer days, then it is unlawful and unenforceable.

Have you signed the contract? It's a bit like shutting the barn door after the horse has bolted if you're asking this after signing...

while you're working interior the U.S. there is not any regulation in any state that demands an company to pay you for trip. no rely what number hours each week which you paintings. trip pay is a income that employers might pay or won't pay. the only required day off is for meal breaks once you paintings a definite type of hours in an afternoon.

Katie,
Did u sign on the line with the company?
did u sign ur pay check?
yes ? then u agreed to terms of employment.
entitlement has nothing to do with work.
u are entitled to the 'pursuit of happiness' not actual acquiring it.
you actually have a sweet deal there so give thanks. u could be looking for a job, tomorrow.
Katie, it is obvious u don't live in USA cause u need a reality check and be thankfull for what u get.
