A muslim is a person that follows Islam. A muslim must follow the Quran & live by the example of thier Prophet Muhammed (saw)
A muslim has obligatory things to do.
1) The Testimony of Faith:
The testimony of faith is saying with conviction, “La ilaha illa Allah, Muhammadur rasoolu Allah.” This saying means “There is no true god (deity) but God (Allah),1 and Muhammad is the Messenger (Prophet) of God.”
2) Give Zakat (charity)
3)Perform namaaz (prayer) 5 times a day
4) Go on a pilgramage to makkah (mecca)
5) Fast during the month of ramadan (abstaining from food)
In General a muslim must perform good deeds.

Salam is root word of Arabic meaning 'peace'. Islam is religon that teaches to live and let others live in peace.
Muslims is one who submits himself to God and lives his/her life according to the teachings of Islam thereby God's commands.
