Because he knows better than we. His ways are higher than ours. God always has a higher purpose than we do. What may seem unfair now will in the end show itself to be the right thing. God is the ultimate good.

Isaiah 55:9 For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.

Romans 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

God and the barber

This is one of the best explanations of why God allows pain and suffering that I have seen. It's an explanation other people will understand.

A man went to a barbershop to have
his hair cut and his beard trimmed.
As the barber began to work,
they began to have a good conversation.
They talked about so many things
and various subjects.

When they eventually touched on
the subject of God, the barber said:
"I don't believe that God exists."

"Why do you say that?"
asked the customer.

"Well, you just have to go out in
the street to realize that God
doesn't exist. Tell me, if God exists,
would there be so many sick people?
Would there be abandoned children?
If God existed, there would be neither
suffering nor pain.
I can't imagine loving a God who
would allow all of these things."

The customer thought for a moment,
but didn't respond because he didn't
want to start an argument.
The barber finished his job and the customer
left the shop.
Just after he left the barbershop,
he saw a man in the street with long,
stringy, dirty hair and an untrimmed
beard.
He looked dirty and un-kept.

The customer turned back and entered
the barber shop again and he said
to the barber:
"You know what? Barbers do not exist."

"How can you say that?"
asked the surprised barber.
"I am here, and I am a barber.
And I just worked on you!"

"No!" the customer exclaimed.
"Barbers don't exist because
if they did, there would be no
people with dirty long hair
and untrimmed beards,
like that man outside."

"Ah, but barbers DO exist!
What happens is, people
do not come to me."

"Exactly!"-
affirmed the customer.
"That's the point!
God, too, DOES exist!
What happens, is, people
don't go to Him
and do not look for Him.
That's why there's so much pain
and suffering in the world."

Human beings have a way of bringing about their own sufferings, due to purposely not following God's Word, either in health laws, or by turning from God rather than seek the peace in their lives that He gives, if you only ask. Romans 5:3 says that suffering produces endurance. The trials that people go through in life, either make them stronger, or weak. It is a choice. Do you want a free ride, in this life? Or do you want to go through trials and tribulation to become a stronger person, a soldier for God. Christians will need to step up to the bat and fight against the devil, as we do now. Wouldn't you rather have fought to be strong to bring you to this time, or remain weak so that Satan can turn you into mush.

Çrémad-Bhägavatam confirms that we are all parts and parcels of the Supreme. If a part of the body cannot regularly render service, it gives pain to the body, and if a person does not render service to the Supreme Lord, he is simply giving pain and trouble to the Supreme Lord. Therefore such a person has to suffer, just as a criminal has to suffer when he does not abide by the laws of the state. Such a criminal may think, "I'm a very good man," but because he is violating the laws of the state, he is giving the government trouble, and consequently the government puts him in prison. When living entities give the Supreme Lord trouble, the Lord comes, collects them together, and puts them in this material world. In essence, He says, "You live here. You are all disturbing the creation; therefore you are criminals and have to live in this material world."
If a finger is diseased, it has to be amputated lest it pollute the entire body. Having rebelled against the principles of God consciousness, we are cut off from our original position. We have fallen. In order to regain our original position, we must resume rendering service unto the Supreme Lord. That is the perfect cure.

A friend of mine in Oregon was severely injured in a car accident in 2000..

She drove a little white Honda type car to work each day. It gets really foggy there in the early morning..Her engine cut out and died, she was sitting in the traffic lane on the road in the fog..

Did she put it in neutral/ out of gear and push the little car out of the way?( she was 10 feet from a turn out) Did she turn on her flashers?

She turned off the lights and sat there to wait for help!? in the traffic lane...

An 18 wheeler could not see the little white car until he ran over it...

She tried to sue the driver of the 18 wheeler....she was in the wrong and in a wheel chair...

Did God allow that to happen?? No, he did not...

She had the knowledge and abilities and chose not to do things the right way...

She tried to argue with me over that same question years ago and that is what I told her....

To teach us some appreciationof how much he suffered to redeem us. In all probability, the suffering we endured is small to what Christ suffered mentally and physically for our sins. He is the most rejected man to have walked the face of the earth. His own family called Him crazy. His followers abandoned Him, because of some of the things he taught was not they wanted to hear. He was constantly being plotted against by the scribes and Pharasees, who wanted Him dead. Through it all, Jesus loved us to His death.

He did not say He would not allow it---

HE SAID HE WOULD BE THERE TO GO THROUGH IT WITH YOU--
God is Love!

It's in those bad and tough times that we LEARN to lean on God-
"God, ONLY YOU can get me through this. I BELIEVE that You are with me. THANK YOU, God, that You love me SO much!"

AFTER we get through our suffering and look back at it--we will see God was THERE --ALL THE TIME!!!

God doesn't. The devil is the cause of anything evil, anything bad, destructive, sickness, storms, anything that destories. Not God. The devil is the God of this world, God gave him that right when God cast the devil from Heaven.
