Nobody knows where the soul is as it is not part of the body

Now I don't really know if this is the sort of thing you mean but awhile ago I heard the following tale and It made me think not just about where our soul resides but if animals have souls. What was supposed to have happened is that there was a scientist who had carried out much research involving the use of animals over a number of years. One day out of the blue he said he was not doing it any more and when pressed for an explanation he said that normally he would autopsy the animals in the company of others so he had never noticed some things that he had noticed the day before he announced he was quitting. For once he was late in the lab and decided to get to work on the body of a small monkey who had just been given the 'final' shot. He started with the head (as his prime work was the brain.)He set the drill up and began to open the skull as the drill entered he noticed a mist which he at first took to be body warmth rising from the opening leaning over for a closer look he became aware of a beautiful smell as of flowers and grass and all sorts of aromas blended into a perfect fragrance this wafted past his nose and then it was gone. 'in that moment' he said 'I knew the little creature's soul had just left the body not just because of those two things but because the body itself felt almost alien to the touch as from that moment, so how could I continue with my work on those creatures?'

I would argue that your soul is your life force, or chi and can be found everywhere in the body, probably travelling around with your blood and extends to a few inches beyond your physical body. I have always thought the soul is what Christians would call the holy spirit as it feels the same when it is touched. I would also be inclined to think that it leaves the body from the head last as it rises up

Actually, the Bible refers to the heart, not the brain. Even today we talk about "the heart of the matter", etc.

The Bible says to love God with your whole HEART, soul, mind and strength, so even locating the soul in the heart is questionable.

Personally, IMHO, I believe that the soul extends beyond our 3-dimensional space-time continuum, and that the BODY is somewhere within the SOUL, rather than saying that the soul is somewhere within the body, because I believe the soul is bigger than this 3-D body, and thus our body could not contain but a cross-section of the soul. That's my own personal opinion.

By the way, if anybody doesn't know, IMHO means "In My Humble Opinion".

The soul lies closer to the heart. The brain makes the choices that will effect the soul, and sometimes those decisions are felt immediately, or years later when they return.

Who makes the decision to sell your soul?

The brain is a biological computor, there are many wild and unproven theories about souls/spirit etc, being in various parts of the body.If you look at the human body as a motor car, then the Life Force or soul or spirit,is the driver.Your guess is as good as mine.

The soul is an invention with no evidence to support it.

However, if it did exists it could not possibly lie in the brain. This is because many people suffer diseases of the brain that cuase them to lose mental faculty, and may lose much brain function before they die. For instance, Alzheimers affects around 1/3 of people who live to an average age.

If the soul lay in the brain it would not be there to survive to an afterlife for around 1/3 of people.

Our spirit is the intellect of our soul.

We speak from time to time of things from our 'heart', better translated, 'mind.' in the Greek. Our brain is our thinking process.

Our souls were created long before we were earthly born, so I do not agree that the soul is in the brain, unless you can prove to me that in our celestial bodies before this earth age, we had brains. I believe our soul lies deep within ourselves, not necessarily in the mass of our 'brain.'

The brain lies about there being a soul. At least some brains do... mine doesn't.

Our thoughts are in the brain. This means that who we are, what we remember, and everything that people associate with a soul is in the brain.

Essentially there has never been any sort of proof that souls exist.

our emotions are the what should differ us from animals. the what differs us from animals is called soul by some the damage to the brain cuases change in emotions. thus damage in brains causes "damage" to the soul. thus: the soul lies in the brain.
