Why should I have to defend them?
Honestly, nobody's trying to take away my freedom of religion (successfully, anyway), so if someone attacks my beliefs, I can just tell them they're being stupid and walk away.
If it comes down to defending my right to believe, however... well, I've always been a staunch supporter of civil rights. I'd go as far as necessary to keep them intact.
As for dying to defend my religion as the 'right' one... that's pointless. Nobody's quite got it right, I think, so why bother fighting over it?
Those that commit violence in the name of religion are exclusively extremist lunatics.
If I'm being threatened by one of those, I think my stance on religion is the least of my worries.
(Personally, I think everyone should be comfortable with whatever faith they choose, if any, and try to get along instead of trying to 'win' by getting more converts.)

My religion is not that much about defending beliefs as finding the truth. I am willing to change my views if somebody can prove their point.
BTW, I believe that the act of 'defending your belief' often takes you further away from the truth.

Do you mean,
1. Defend the truth and validity of my beliefs, or
2. Defend my right to believe?
I don't need to defend that God is real. He can do that all by himself, and he will, to each individual person on Judgment Day. I have enough faith in His judgment to leave it at that.
And I don't need to defend my right to believe. I just believe. If I'm persecuted for it, I can't say I wasn't given a heads-up. I just keep believing, because truth always wins out.

That's dumb.All your defending is your ego because it's feeling threatened.True faith doesn't require defending,other than living by it's moral code.If you want to perpetuate hate and division go ahead and defend your super ego,leave the rest of us out of it.Why not try minding your own business that would be much more effective.I'm not saying deny the Lord,just keep Him to yourself,He can take care of Himself.

Just like the 60 million Christian martyrs of Rome, just like the Chinese Chrsitians getting killed today, and just like Christian martyrs in India,Saudi Arabia,Indonesia, Pakistan,Iran, Iraq, Gaza, The West Bank, Malysia, and etc etc I would die before giving up the truth of Jesus Christ.

I went so far as to be in the USAF as a bomber pilot risking my life over Viet Nam. Then once a week each month I was assigned a B52 bomber loaded with nuke weapon and prepared to go world war III with the Soviet Union. I am relieved to have never done it. How far would I go? As the man who earned the most medals, including the Medal of Honor in WW ll, Audie Murphy, said "To Hell and Back.".

I would pray for the strength to even die rather than deny my faith in God and the Risen Christ, Saviour of the World.
All the earthly stuff I believe in (democracy, fair play, etc...) not quite as far.
