A relative has that problem and she was told to avoid raw fruits and vegetables for a while because they might upset her condition. But I wouldn't know if your situation is the same. You might want to call your doctor's office and ask to talk with a nurse about your question. It won't take much time and a phone call won't cost any money.

The only thing you should stay away from is seeds and anything that is not easily digested like apple skin and corn. The whole idea is that you want food to move thruogh the digestive track quickly so it doesn't get stuck in the pouches and get infected. Roughage like lettuce is good for you unless you are having a flare up in which case you want to avoid roughage because it will upset an already tender area. Make sure to get lots of fiber and especially water. Water will help keep everything moving.

Although I don't have it, my dad does. He cannot eat salad or anything like beans with a soft "shell". He has tried, but he gets very sick every time he does. I would definately ask my health care provider before trying. Good Luck!

What you have is a very COMMON condition. Info is available on google search. Just ask your question, read it and practice it. I could tell you but Free Medical Advice is like Free Legal Advice, "It is worth what you pay for it". Got it? Have a great day, GP
