this question would get more results in the horse section but i ride bareback bronc and i dont care how long youve been doing it everytime is like the first as you settle down in the chute and give your rigging one last look over for damage the nervousness starts to build and nomater how many people are in the crowd whether you know them or not you dont even relize they are there at all and once they open that chute that 8 seconds seems to last an eternity and everything around you is a big blur while your concentrating on that ride and keeping your spurring in time with the horse and waiting for that buzzer

Actually this question can be looked at two ways for myself.
Women and Broncs/Bulls. They both the same. Before I "Go through the Gate". I have to set my mind to do my best and stay focused on what needs to be done. Have no fear, even when afraid. Hold on until the bell rings. ;-)
Not sure how a woman prepare. I have seen a few ride a Bull. Most do Barrels and Poles where I live.
I not rode a Bull in many a year. May be a little rusty now. It is just as exciting and adrenaline pumping as my woman. May be a little rusty there also.

It's a strange feeling....the fear is always there but you try to concentrate to become part of the horse's movements. I also "visualise" the ride..running through the possibilities over and over in practice so that it becomes second nature on the day
