By yourself it will not have a significant amount. The difference occurs when millions change, but you can be the first to change. You can be a role model for others, who will convince even more people until we have millions changing for the good.
With that said. How do you travel then? How do you get to work, get around town, or see family and friends in other cities? Do we go back to the time when travel was slow and moving to another state meant that you would never see them again? I believe that there will be a change in transportation when a viable alternative becomes a reality. Until then telling people not to drive will fall on deaf ears.

wow. people are really ignorant. you not driving your car contributes to the big picture. if not driving your car doesn't help, than i might as well start throwing my trash everywhere. i mean, I'm just one person. no big deal in the big picture, huh? i mean really people. if we could get more people thinking that they have an impact, things could actually change. 1 person changes, no big impact. 10? 100? 1000? 100000?
and how about the morals of it? if you are truly ignorant, and don't know that its bad to hurt the environment, then no problem. but assuming that you agree that it is wrong to hurt the environment, shouldn't it be morally correct to avoid hurting the environment?
also, Mr Jello says we will get through this crisis like the others... must have become a top contributor with that nonsense. what other global emergency have we gotten through? lol. good luck with your fantasy world.. where problems fix themselves. hopefully it isn't destroyed with the real world.

Driving ur car releases pretty high levels of C02, not acceptable with the way global warming's proceeding... so if u just tried to use PTS(Public Transport System), less CO2 will be formed as less fuel will be burnt... so u see if we all make an effort, it's still not too late to undo the damage we have done...
And, don't u think there'll be much fewer traffic-jams if there were lesser vehicles on the road and cleaner air to breathe...

Global warming is just a fad. It will fade, cease to be a problem, and the whiners will move on to the next threat to humanity. Remember when the problem was over population? Do they admit that over population causes global warming? Of course not. It is all a hoax.

It will help because it means one less car polluting the air. It means you are proactive and know that riding a bike, walking or taking public transportation is a proactive measure to slow the obvious effects of GW. Sure many will still drive, but movements begin with the individual and build momentum. Ignore the moronic statements from those like Jello, who in turn, ignore solid scientific data. The head in the sand mentality is persistent among the moronic.

Not buying a car would have a bigger impact.
Manufacturing produces a lot of pollutants, especially the manufacture of hybrid cars which require substantial numbers of batteries which have to be repeatedly replaced over the life of the vehicle.

It is not only you but all has to shift to eco friendly fuel. You are right in asking this question because just not single car will not stop global warming.

exactly ! it won't. so keep driving !
if countries make it illegal and arrest ppl who drive and as a result ppl stop driving - maybe it would help - lol
the main problem is manufacturing plants that put crap in the air and heavy trucks etc - these pollute the air a lot more than any car you'll ever drive.

Nothing you do effects "global warming" one way or the other.
Believers will tell us that we "ALL" need to work together and they are very willing to pass laws to insure you comply.
Just enjoy life. Like every other 'crisis', this too shall pass.
