Well, most people put in 8 hour days/5 days a week into their normal employment. I'd imagine professional fighters do the same, at least. Professional musicians put that much time into their instruments. (if not more)
I consider myself a mediocre, but true martial artist. I practice every day for 20 to 45 minutes (depending on which of my routines I work on: If I'm just working Kata, it may only take 20 minutes, if I work Kata, Makiwara, cardio work, it might be 45) and then run a class or two each week, which last an hour and a half.

I don't know about others but I train 4-5 classes sometimes more a day. (except for sunday which I have off to recuperate) Each class going on average of 1 to 3/4 hours. I wake up in the morning and do about 30 Minutes of exercises to wake my body and train core muscles. During the day I'll practice forms, weapons, bag, Qi Gong, ground work and anything else that takes my fancy. I do this every day as I am a full time student at my school. I do nothing but train, study, learn, work/teach, eat and sleep.

But being a professional athlete is a full-time job in every sense of the word. You would expect any dedicated professional athlete to follow a strict diet, have strict going to bed time, etc...
