I have two different user names set up for reasons that don't matter here. But I sometimes forget which one has what on the favorites list. Isn't there a way to put them in "shared documents," in effect, the way I do with jpeg files into the "shared photos" category?

Richard, how do I "click on file" in Internet Explorer? I don't find that, let alone all the other things you mentioned.

Dewcoons, I moved everything I need to allusers, and even shut down and rebooted. But the ones I'd just moved don't show up there. Do I have to change some default setting somewhere?

This is the professional, sure way to share Favorites (Bookmarks) for two users with IE as browser:

First, from inside IE, click on File then Import and Export and export your Favorites to a file.

Next log on as the user and navigate to the Registry key

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\ Microsoft\Windows\ CurrenTVersion\Explorer\User Shell Folders

Locate the value named Favorites and change its data from the default of %USER PROFILE%\Favorites to %ALLUSERSPROFILE%\Favorites.

Finally, import the saved Favorites into any user account.

The System will automatically update the Favorites after this. If you do not edit the registry key, you will have to manually update as the two USERS add Favorites.

Assuming Windows XP....
If you go into your C drive, you will find a folder called "Documents and Settings"
Under that will be a folder for each of the user IDs on the computer
In each of those will be a "My Favorites" folder
Each holds the favorites for that user

There will also be an "All User" ID. Anything placed in the My Favorites for All Users is on everyone's Favorite list

Or you can access user2's Favorites when logged in as user1 by:
Under the File menu do an Open
Click on Browse
Change the File Type at the bottom to display All Files
Browse to user2's "My Favoites"
You will be able to see them in the "Open" window and select the Favorite you want to use.
