The 10 commandments are the basic moral and social rules that people need to keep, in order to have a social life and not be considered a**holes (well not all 10 of them). People follow that because they want to be apreciated and integrated in their society. It's common sense. It doesn't have much to do with religion, both christians and atheist follow those rules but it depends on each's personality and what they want

In our family...we are sabbatarians. We keep the 10. You only gave 5 and you misquoted them so are you sure you are keeping them? By non-christians you would be speaking of Jews and Muslims yes? Well, Jews and Muslims keep the 10 because they still follow the Torah. Most Christians are under the impression due to misdoctrination and false teaching that Christs sacrifice did away with the "law". Well, the laws of men were done away with along with all the blood sacrifice, purification, atonement and etc because the blood of Christ replaced those. However, nothing changed of the original 10 commandments and we are implored over and over again to keep His Commandments. The Bible, the New Testament...(called so by people but not by God) writers did predict that these things would happen...even in the Old Testament Daniel spoke of an anti-christ type figure...

Daniel 7:25
He will speak against the Most High and oppress his saints and try to change the set times and the laws. The saints will be handed over to him for a time, times and half a time.

The people that have it goin on here on the planet are Messanic Jews. I think, I have to look more into what they believe. I believe they are the remnant that Rev talks about.

Anyhoo, we do the best we can as far as we understand the Bible. We study it ourselves and don't attend any organized religious faith system but we love God by which we believe that Jesus is God and that the entire Bible is His Word. As for the other Christians...well, they don't realize it..but they are all members of the bastardized versions of the Catholic Church which was established by the Roman Emporer who changed the Sabbath so that the Children of God would be decieved into worshipping a false god on the venerable Day of the Sun. I didn't know this for a long time...because like other people I lived what I was taught and was being taught by men full of tradition who relied on the teachings of other misguided people. It all trickles down and will continue to until such a time that Christians learn to delve deep and look close. The commandments won't save you...like the theif on the cross, confessing that Jesus is the Son of God is enough when God judges...but if you are alive and well on this earth and confessing God with your mouth but doing as you will in every other way...there is no atonement. Keeping His law is essential first in order to know how we sin and then to keep us from sinning. Salvation through faith has always been merciful and graciously given...even back in the "old testament". Love in Christ, ~J~

I'm not sure that any non-Christian keeps the Sabbath day,in fact 90% of Christians don't,since it's Saturday not Sunday.

Everybody pretty much commits adultery at the same rate, from all the evidence I've ever seen,Religious or not.

The Catholics seem to have the hardest time with the whole Idol thing,in my opinion.

'Easy'? Did you say 'easy'? It's EASY to keep those 5 commands (never mind the entire 10)? Anybody who thinks those 5 are easy to keep either has no idea what is entailed in all of that, or they are just picking and choosing what is easy for them. By the absence of the other 5 commands, I suspect the latter.

What about the ones that involve the heart and the mind: honoring parents, not coveting, not speaking untruths about other people, not taking God's name in vain? Why the emphasis on outword 'works' that can be observed (to a degree) by other people? Do you think that by appearing to keep a law you are superior to those who you deem not to be so doing?

And who are you to judge all Christians as not keeping the Ten Commandments? The principles apply to them, and they know it, and millions quietly observe them in the spirit of the Lord of the Sabbath, Christ, who died to set us free from legalism. But they know they cannot keep them all perfectly because they are sinners - as are you - so they daily seek God's forgiveness in Christ for failing to keep God's perfect law. Do you have the humility to admit to doing that?

Atheist follow the important commandments. This is because religion is not a prerequisite for good morals.

You are incorrect sir. It is not easy for non-christians to follow these rules. Other than Jesus, no one ever has or will be able to completely comply with these 10 rules, christian or not. That's why they were provided to us - to show that relying on ourselves is not enough to enter heaven.

I suggest you revisit your assumptions. Or said differently, name one non-christian who has never violated any of the 10 commandments.

Oh, and I did notice the "tricky" rewording of the 10 commandments. You should have also relabelled them as the 10 Commendments. Would that you were at least half as clever as you think yourself to be, then you wouldn't be so unhappy and insecure...

Non Christians do not do any of the things you say they do.

Non Christians don't observe the Sabbath Day because they don't go to church. They treat Sunday just like any other day.

Many Non Christians commit adultery because they do not believe in marriage or being faithful to their partner.

Non Christians worship celebrities, power, money, etc instead of worshipping God.
