Yes calories are calories, but the apple has massive amounts more fiber than the cake. The apple is actually easier to burn off because of this. The fiber attaches to fats within your system and helps to eliminate them.

It's the same, but go with the apples. You will get a lot more food for your 100 calories. A 100 calories of cake is not much, but a 100 calories of apples is a lot of apples. The apples also contain vitamins and fiber that are good for you, while the cake contains sugar and processed flour, which is not.

In scientific terms, that's the same amount of energy.
However, as both food contains different amounts of sugars/ energy containing substances, it is highly unlikely for the calories to be exhausted in the same way and speed.

sure calories are calories but if you are trying to lose weight look at other things besides just the calories. like fat and carbs

absoutely not. cake has sugar..which it stored as fat.apples are much healthier and actually speed up the metabolism..which means.....exactly burning calories!not to say you cant eat cake. just not too much or too often
