every christian is a reformed atheist .. so like ex- smokers those that still smoke prefer not their immediate company...but we all know that smoking is just stupid ///
I.e. even dogs don't stand downwind from a camp-fire..
Christians are just enlightened ex-atheists, who giggle at the same old stupid reasons for denying something that can never be denied ...Good luck trying to defend an indefensible position..
Been there done that ...get over your bad self ...

atheists common reason for their beliefs or lack thereof...
1. Christians were mean to me and think they know everything ..
2.I don't know the truth why do you think you do ?
3.God never appeared to me personally..
4.I'm a good person ...(yawn)
5.I'm too into my own demon worship right now..
7.I like what people call sin...
8.studying 188 pages of the new testament is way to tough ...Plus I'm busy reading 17,000 pages of some crap science fiction/harry potter/history of European metallurgy textbook..
9. Christianity was invented to keep the masses under control...exactly how..?? I forget..
10.Christians liked to kill people ...

Dang these are some really excellent reasons .. I think I'll backslide...

I am a Christian (Catholic). There are some so called"Christians" spreading inaccuracies about the Catholic Church ,particularly concerning Mary.and her roll here on Earth and in Heaven, and about idol worship. They have been told over and over again what they are saying is completely wrong. They are misinformed but they refuse to accept the truth regarding Mary and idol worship. They are giving other Christians' a bad name .They are leaving themselves wide open to abuse by Atheists and they have nobody to blame but themselves. They call themselves 'Christians' but they are an embarrassment to the name.Maybe you can give them some suggestions on how to be a good Christian,so they stop spreading lies.Catholics can't get through to them. You might.have better luck.I am not being sarcastic when i say this .I am dead serious. I am fed up with their lies.

I think a case could be made for this if atheists rightly call us to account for behavior which isn't Christ-like, which I'd hope would compel those of us who aren't exemplifying Christ to change the way we're living. The first link below has some pretty good examples.

Yes. It is a great way to sharpen our own arguments and to study the Bible better. It is a warning not to judge others as we do not know where the atheist will be in x years time when his thinking may have changed. It is a reminder that we have to behave differently and moderate our own speech and actions and it reminds us to pray for our friends that they may come under the sound of the gospel. It is a reminder that many of us were once unbelievers. It is a time to watch God in action as the sheep hear His voice calling. So by and large it ought to.

As Jesus said:

John 4:34-36 (King James Version)

34Jesus saith unto them, My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work.

35Say not ye, There are yet four months, and then cometh harvest? behold, I say unto you, Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest.

36And he that reapeth receiveth wages, and gathereth fruit unto life eternal: that both he that soweth and he that reapeth may rejoice together.

Matthew 5
15Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.

16Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven

Yes! Their unbelief and some comments have only made me stronger in my faith. They have also taught me I was very judge mental in my thinking and that really is God's place. Most importantly, God is MORE real to me than ever and I would never deny his name.

Yeah, I think so. How could we be good Christians if we didn't have some tough opposition?
