I don't get it, people accept gay/ lesbian/ bi with no problems so why not incest? I don't see the difference between them honestly. Usually when someone mentions incest, people say it's sick but why?

Can't see as one perversion is any better than another.
Our culture is conditioned to believe homosexuality is okay.
If we go by the Bible they are both sinful.
If we go man's law I don't see how either can be judged differently by a government as long as all are consenting adults.
I definitely get your point.
I am definitely not in favor of either or bestiality which I assume is the next question.
I think the law of the land is wrong on this one and I for one am kind of glad they are for however long it might last.
If the law is about genetics this brings reason for a myriad of laws and would the law be different for couples who could not bear children?
Those answering that incest is somehow worse than homosexuality are definitely conditioned by this culture.
As far as I am concerned you can throw bestiality right in there with them.

I truly understand the legal reasons for gays having rights doesn't mean I have to approve of homosexuality and if you take these laws as far as you can go with them you have a Sodom and Gomorrah which we have now but we close our eyes and bear it.
We will never change a man's heart by changing the law.
God himself has demonstrated this with his righteous law.
It is through the heart and through the atonement that people are changed.

Incest has biological problems. "In breeding" can lead to physical problems (downs syndrome, retardation etc) and that put a drain on the family and community. Every culture everywhere was able to see this and banned it.
I suppose the concept in and of itself is not "sick" but our culture (not to mention religion) forbids it because of the drain it puts on the culture etc. A society could not too many people with birth defects or it cannot support them. If you allow incest you increase the potential for problems. Ban incest and you have the amount of birth defects that any "typical" society has and that amount is a number that the society can support and tend to.

Incest is actually legal in France, Belgium, Luxombourg and the Netherlands. The resaon it's not in most western countries is because it's forbidden in Levitcus 18, part of the Jewish and Christian bibles and from where Islam also gets its prohibitions.
Incest is NOT illegal because it causes birth defects. In truth the rate of birth defects in siblings is only 4% higher than for someone not related to the seventh generation.
The reason why incest is unthinkable to most of us is because we imagine it with our brother, sister, step brother or step sister or parent whom we were raised with. But being raised with someone causes an imprinting on our psyche called the Westermarck Effect which turns off our natural sexual attraction for those who were raised by us. Truth is, however that we are strongly attracted to others who look like us, sound like us, even smell like us and act like us. Websites devoted to dating match mates based on LIKENESSES to one another, not differences. In fact, there are a number of people, raised apart from their siblings and parents who upon meeting them as adults find themselves strangely attacted to them, so much so that they become obsessed. This affect is called Genetic Sexual Attraction or GSA and is nutralized by the Westermarck Effect. To them, their incest isn't incestual. They don't have this family aversion that you do and are judging them by.

Incest has 3 major forms of problems. First is young siblings. It is brought about at a young age before they learn about their sexuality. Secondly it also occurs as a form of parental and progeny relationship. This also hinders the development of the child. Lastly it occurs later in life and produces progeny with genetic defects. For these 3 major items, it is illegal.

There is an obligation not to bring children with birth defects purposely into the world.Enough defects occur without incest.The narrow genetic pool in incest almost guarantees birth defects

Incest as a form of intercourse is illegal becuase of the risk of producing a malformed offspring with inbred diseases.
Besides this, the incest intercourses between parents and children are illegal due to the protection of the children / they are not able to effectivelly defend themselves against the abuse/

Besides the moral angle, there's the genetic angle. Gay couples can't have children together whereas close relatives of opposite genders can, and the rate of crippling genetic traits increases when they do. Are you going to start a campaign or what?
