I’m trying to enjoy the best of both places like hitting the beach and snow skiing and just about anything and everything, this is going to be like my most advantageous, craziest vacation ever.
I’m thinking around March, April, or May??

You sound like you're up for a wacky vacation! OK - a couple ideas for you .....

Aussie is huge - Melbourne you can get four seasons in one day then you have Cairns - that is like summer all year around. No snow up this end of the country.

New Zealand has Queenstown - the adventure capital of NZ. Costly little place with all the attractions on offer. Winter it's just like a mini Aspen, USA. You can't pass up a bungy jump though. http://www.ajhackett.co.nz - The world famous Shotover Jet doing full 360º spins! http://shotoverjet.co.nz and the Milford Sounds, http://www.fiordland.org.nz . Totally opposite of NZ, Auckland - Do a bridge climb http://aucklandbridgeclimb.co.nz/ and jump off the sky tower, http://www.skycityauckland.co.nz/skycity/auckland/sky-tower/sky-tower_home.cfm

Top of the South Island visit Nelson. http://www.nelsonnz.com Great city and do the Abel Tasman National Park. http://www.abeltasman.co.nz Kayak, http://seakayaking.co.nz Swim with the seals, http://www.sealswim.com Walk the track one-way and take an Aqua taxi http://www.aquataxi.co.nz back. Stay at the lodge http://www.awaroalodge.co.nz at the end. I tell you, it’s an amazing place. Lived there for years.

Hi, start off in north queensland so you can hit the beach's, normally you can go to the beach all year around, down as far as Rockhampton, and enjoy hot to warm weather, then go down t New south wales and Victoria for the snow seasons, mostilikely may to june would be best for down in the snow, to make sure you get it, other wise hit New Zealand for the snow season, which you can go earlier, than may, but ou should allow yourself more than 2 weeks Australia has a lot to offer you if you have a sense of adventure, come see our wild life, beach's, if you have the money and much more time, visit such places as Ayres Rock, Kakadu, maybe a train trip right up through the centre, or do as many do, grab a push bike and cycle around australia, which you will need more than 2 weeks, and you would have to be a very fit person, ,
hope if you do come to this wonderful country you enjoy yourself, good luck

If you want to go skiing then you need to be in Australia in July, August or September. Sometimes there is enough snow in June. In New Zealand the season starts earlier and finishes later. You can ski year round in NZ if you are prepared to pay for helicopter skiing on the glaciers.

In March and April, beaches all over Australia are fine and you will enjoy yourself. It is getting a bit cool in southern Australia towrds the end of April and in May and by then all surfers are wearing wet suits. In northern Australia the dry season usually starts in April and May is a beautiful month with safe swimming on the beaches and warm seas.

If you want the best of it, plan a beach holiday in Australia then hit the slopes in New Zealand.

two weeks is far to short to go to both countries . What you could do is have a stopover in Sydney or Brisbane for a couple of nights on your way to New Zealand. If you stayed in Brisbane and wanted a fantastic beach experience stay on the GoldCoast I hours drive from Brisbane or in Sydney You can see the beautiful harbour beaches and tour around the city then fly into wellington the capital of Nz get the ferry down to the South Island they go 2 or 3 times a day and take a few hours costs about $65. hire a car, drive South From the Marlborough sounds at Picton through Nelson down the west coast . Take a helicopter ride up into the mountains around Franz Joseph, Fox Glacier area to view the Glaciers and fly out of Christchurch. If you have time drive down to Wanaka and Queenstown .May can be getting quite cold in Nz. March april will be better

I suggest May, you can fly into Cairns then work your way down the coast to the Gold Coast area. That will cover everything from beaches to white water rafting. The weather should be fine. From there head for the South Island of NewZealand. Skiing/snowboarding are your best bets there as, beinf further south, it gets colder faster and you should have no trouble finding some powder. I agree with a lot of the posts though, 2 weeks is 2 little unless you focus on just a couple of activities.

I spent 2 weeks in Australia and 2 weeks in New Zealand as part of a round the world trip. You won't see much of Australia in two weeks. It's huge. We travelled around in a campervan and only managed to complete a triangle from Melbourne to Sydney and Canberra and back to Melbourne. In New Zealand we explored the whole of the North Island and that took up the whole 2 weeks. Much depends where you want to go and what you want to see and do. If you are going snow skiing you obviously have to go in their winter which is opposite our summer.

not much snow skiing in queensland in march-may. you could hit the beach then tho.
New Zealand is a different country - separated by three hours flight from australia.

March would be the best for australia, the summer here is from December to February so you'll just get the end of summer
