My (late) first wife and I made Pluckets one year for Christmas gifts for everybody, and boy, did that get received well. The following year, when we gave something else, we got *so* many comments that "we were hoping to get another one of those things you made last year."
Just make up some bread dough, but add a little sugar to it, sorta like sweet roll dough. After it rises the first time, and you punch it down, squeeze off a walnut-size lump, drop it into a wash of milk and egg, drop it into a mix of cinnamon-sugar and walnuts, then drop it into an angel-food cake pan. Stop when the pan is about 2/3 full, and bake it.
When you get it out of the oven, let it cool for a bit, and then invert it over a cardboard covered with aluminum foil.
You're not supposed to cut a Plucket. Instead, you grab with your fingers, and pluck off a lump to toss in your mouth. After it's half-gone, it doesn't have that angel-food cake shape any more, but nobody cares, and it will disappear rapidly after that, anyway.
Other things that went over well were popcorn balls, and peanut butter cups. I don't know her recipes for either one, but they shouldn't be too hard to figure out.
One should never marry a wonder woman. If you outlive them, there are *so* many things that remind you of how you once were so blessed....

For Christmas I always make those miniature loaves of baked goodies like Applesauce Cake, Gingerbread, Banana Bread, Pumpkin Bread, Chocolate Chip Cake, Chocolate Cake with Chocolate Icing, Lemon Poppyseed Cake with Lemon Icing, and Peanut Butter Fudge. My grandmother used to take dates and stuff them with a mixture of cream cheese and powdered sugar. Everyone loved those.
As you can tell, I really get busy at Christmas time. Different people put in different requests for the above cakes. Some want them all!
My mother makes Peanut Brittle for Christmas to pass out as well as some of what I make. She also makes Persimmon Cookies and Date bars which go fast. She used to also make Divinity but hasn't done that in years now. She's 83 yrs old.
