My will manifests as my inner voice, conscience, and source of inspiration. My highly evolved body makes available a limited number, variety and diversity of possibilities for thought, feeling and action in an unconscious mind and my divine eternal soul selects from moment to moment the one possibility out of all possible that manifests within my conscious mind as my free will. I believe that in the act of conscious thought, my soul gets inside my mind, guides my will, and rides my body.

Dear Mum of four,

Having a powerful, very deep contre-bass voice, and being about half-deaf from years of drum-set playing and other noisy hobbies, my voice (to me) sounds about "just right" in army drill-sergeant TEN-nn--HUT ! VOLUME , but "sweet" it probably is not. LOL

My many drum cymbals do always ring so sweetly in my ears ! I select mostly my sweetest ones when playing drum-set in our 30 -35 member Christian Fellowship Concert Band.

In a more serious, spiritual tone now, there are the beautiful, ringing (not physical sound, not tinnitus - which is very different ) "contactual tones" or joyful tones or super-sounds that we sometimes may perceive; and these are also called the sweet, "still small Voice" of God, softly ringing-resonating within our souls. Usually sensed in seeking Truth -- prayer, reflection and worship times.

Peace and progress,
Brother Dave, a Jesusonian Christian Truthist

Hmm! I don't know if I should take the question as query about conceit or a practical question about how we hear ourselves versus how others hear us.
In other words, inside my own head, I sound fine but when I listen to myself on recordings, I sound awful. My voice is too nasal and very harsh. I love to sing and have a powerful tenor voice but I do not have a sweet sounding solo voice. When I listen to myself as I actually sing, I sound okay inside my own head, but the actual sound waves are apparently very different from the resonations I get inside my skull. Thus, my voice does not ring sweetly in my ears when I hear an actual recording.
Now, as for the conceit angle. Do I like to hear myself talk? Am I hung up on the sound of my own voice to the exclusion of others? I hope not. Yes, I think I am a good speaker, that I am good with words, but I also try hard to listen to others so that I can know them better, learn from them and add that knowledge to my personal mental reference library.
I think I have knowledge and wisdom to share with others so I enjoy speaking to groups and teaching. I think I am good at that, but I try not to flaunt or boast about myself. I learned early on that if we do a good job, others will recognize it and praise our efforts without having to do it ourselves.

No. We hear our very own voice muffled via the cranium and cheekbones, no longer often via capability of our ears. A recording will consequently continually sound unusual to you first time you hear your very own voice as others hear it.

Most of the time I would have to say yes. Most of the time I am liking what I'm hearing.

Unfortunately no. I like more to let other people speak. I'm more of a listener.

Isn't high-pitched enough these days.

But it could be worse.... I can sing Tribute (by Tenacious D) pretty effectively, so that has to count for something! =P
