They are both very good LCDs!

Sony are No1 in sales worldwide, with Samsung and Sharp usually sitting second/third.
And Sony are well known for their reliability, which also helps!

But as many people don't realise, Samsung make the LCD screens for Sony.

In my opinion, look at them both side by side, and pick the picture quality that looks best to you. These days they are so similar, it may comes down to just the design, and thats where Samsung does very well with its Sleekish Glossy look!

Hope this helps, and all the best!

Sonys are the best in overall reliability, picture quality, and good customer support.

Samsungs have the highest failure rates. As a repair shop, I see most samsungs fail right after warranty.

If you want throw away junk, with NO parts or Support after warranty. Get a Westinghouse! Its cheap for a reason! No Customer Support after warranty!

I'd go with the Sony. They have always seemed to last the longest. I've had both off and on, and always llike Sonys a little more.
