The first place to look is your diet. People who want to
gain weight at around one to two pounds per week, you may need to increase your calorie intake by 700 to 1000 calories a day. That doesn't mean you should start drinking double cream by the pint! Do it by:
* regularly eating three meals a day
* snacking between meals
* eating larger than normal portions - choose a taller glass of milk, a larger piece of fruit. This is unlikely to come naturally to you at first, it's a question of breaking old habits
* choosing high-calorie foods. You should try to choose foods that have nutritional value in addition to providing calories ie they contain protein, vitamins or minerals. However - always choose low-fat versions when you can. How about:
o bread, cereal (use milk instead of water for hot cereals), rice, pasta, bagels, biscuits
o fruit, especially canned in syrup, dried or as a nectar or juice. Look at labels - cranberry juice and pineapple juice usually contain more calories than orange juice, for example
o not all vegetables have the same calorie content: sweet corn contains more calories than beans. You could also try avocados, olives and potatoes
o all lean meats, fish, eggs (not too many if your cholesterol is high or you have a family history of high cholesterol or heart disease - eggs contain a high level of cholesterol)
o milk, yoghurt, hard cheeses such as cheddar, fruit yoghurts, custard, milkshakes
Snack attack
Most people have three meals a day, and try to avoid snacks in between. If you want to bulk out your shape, then snack with gusto - a substantial snack between meals both mid-morning and mid-afternoon. Calorific snacks include:
* peanut butter on bread - try to find a low-fat variety of peanut butter
* vegetables or bread sticks dipped in high-calorie (but low-fat) dips
* seeds eg sunflower or pumpkin
* low-fat crisps
* low-fat yoghurts or fromage frais
* savoury biscuits with low-fat cheese
This recipe is adapted from one given by the American Dietetic Association - you could try it with a big bowl of homemade soup:
Quick cheese bread
* 3¾ mugs (normal size) of flour, sifted
* 5 teaspoons baking powder
* ½ teaspoon salt
* ½ mug margarine
* 2½mugs shredded cheddar or Swiss cheese
* 1½ mugs skimmed milk
* 2 eggs, slightly beaten
Combine all the dry ingredients. Cut in margarine until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in cheese. Combine milk and eggs and add to cheese mixture until just moistened. Spoon into greased 9" x 5" loaf tin. Bake at 375 degrees for one hour. Remove from pan immediately. Makes 12 slices.

Bulk out with exercise
Weight training is essential if you want to bulk up your shape, as it will help ensure you put on lean muscle rather than fat.
Muscles are built when you work your body against resistance - such as lifting weights, doing chest, shoulder and leg presses, leg curls and raises and so on.
It's important that you strike the correct balance between eating more calories, and the amount you'll burn up if you embark on weight-training exercise for the first time. Remember that you need to consume more calories than you can burn up.
Cardiovascular training such as running, walking or rowing should be kept to a minimum, as it burns calories but doesn't build muscle in the same way as weight-training.
It might be helpful if you joined a gym and asked for help in creating a special exercise programme.
As always, check with your GP first if you haven't exercised for a long time.

Your most likely blessed with a very fast metabolism. Losing or gaining weight is a math question. Eat more calories than you use. You'll basically be doing just the opposite of dieting.
Being skinny means that your stomach is small, so eating just a bit more than feeling comfortable will stretch it out some and allow you to eat more in the future.
Don't drink lots of water or low calorie food while eating meals (but definitely get the required amount of water daily), it fills the stomach and makes you feel full faster. Follow the guidelines of the food pyramid, and eat nutrient rich foods, just eat more :-)
I know a bit how how you feel, I was big time skinny growing up (69 pounds in the 7th grade). Working out with weights also helps.
I wouldn't worry much about getting fat. The fact that you are concerned means that you'll be watching yourself and you can adjust your diet as you go along. Count your calories for just a few days to get an idea of how many calories your taking in, then just add calories daily until you start seeing results, I'm talking hundreds of calories, not one's and two's :-).
It's not easy to gain weight (as I'm sure you know), but it's incredibly fun trying :-)

getting fat is very easy thing.earn much calories
you hav to take good fat .
The energy stored in our food is measured in terms of calories. Technically, one calorie is the amount of energy required to raise the temperature of 1 gram of water 1 degree Celsius (1.8 degrees Fahrenheit). The Calorie measure used commonly to discuss the energy content of food is actually a kilocalorie or 1000 real calories. For this reason, the Calorie in food is often written with a capital C. Different foods can be used by the body to produce different amounts of energy. Carbohydrate e.g. sugar contains less than 4 calories, whilst fat contains 9 calories per gram. This means 5 g sugar in a product has about 20 calories, whilst 5 g fat has 45 calories. Therefore a good way to decrease the calories in your food is to lower the amounts of fat. But just because a food is labelled fat-free, it doesn´t mean it is calorie-free. Indeed, most fat-free foods still provide a lot of calories from carbohydrates and proteins.
We must also remember that the human body needs a certain amount of oils for good health; because they contain fat soluble vitamins and nutritionally essential fatty acids. Fats can be either saturated or unsaturated (which includes mono-unsaturated and polyunsaturated). Most Saturated fats should be reduced because they raise blood cholesterol. Cholesterol is a fat-like substance found only in animal foods. Excess cholesterol furs up arteries and is linked to heart disease and strokes. Monounsaturated fats, found in abundance in olive oil and peanut oil, appear to protect against heart disease because they replace saturated fats in the diet. Polyunsaturated fats can be further divided into the omega-6 and the omega-3 families. Most Europeans already get plenty of omega-6 fats, since many vegetable oils contain them naturally. We are now being advised to eat more omega-3s, which are thought to have a positive impact on heart health and an important role in brain and eye function. Oily fish such as salmon, herring and mackerel are a good source of omega-3s, which are also found in walnuts and some oils like soybean and rapeseed.

I would like to know how old you are...makes a big difference. To gain weight you have to consume more calories a day then you burn. Find out how many calories you need a day at your age, height, weight that you are now. There are sites that will let you plug in info. and it will tell you what you need. Eat over your calorie intake. You do not have to eat bad fattening food to gain weight, just more calories. Good Luck!

i'm a little woman too and i hate the looks from variois people, as if we are sick or something. i really think thin people should concentrate on eating proteins, vegetables just like others. the only difference is we can eat more than others. i honestly wouldn't suggest trying to get "fat" by eating unhealthy foods like cookies, cakes, pies and other fatty foods. it's not healthy for us either.
just remember some people are meant to be bigger than others. i'm sure over weight people have a hard time losing weight like we have a hard time gaining it.

Gorge on ice-creams, junk food, cream, butter, sweets.
If you want to do it the healthy way, take a diet rich in milk, milk products, nuts, fruits, figs, steamed rice, boiled chicken, brown bread and just give it some time - 6 months to a year and you will look healthy, not fat!!
Either way, don't try anything without first consulting a physician, dietician or qualified nutritionist.
Lastly, don't feel guilty about the way you look, as long you feel good inside!!
