It entirely depends on the industry you work in, the size of the company, where the offices are located, etc
But being a marketing manager you should have access to all sorts of market research so there must be some salary comparisons in there somewhere..?

The job of being a marketing manager depends on what type of industry you are in and What are you responsible for.
If you are running the complete marketing function then that is very different from being responsible for planning and placing the advertising.
Also you could expect to get more if you are a member of the CIM. (Chartered Institute for Marketing)

First be sure that you can handle your job. They will exploit you if you are not legally in the country. Legalize your status. If it is your first job as Marketing manager, don't bargain until you have been able to prove yourself. Be focussed and you will do well. Don't party too much. Pumping iron and building those biceps helps too. Good Luck with a great salary.

As much as possible (i.e. whatever you can negotiate for)
1) More than you get in your current position
2) Less than the (experienced) Manager who has left
