Ok, I got tattoo on my back yesterday. And as hard as I tried to sleep on my tummy, it seems I ended up on my back at some point during the night (my tattoo guy didn't say to cover it), so I woke up with my t-shirt stucked to the tattoo. I know, I'm silly, but I didn't think about getting it wet before I tried to separate from my skin. Nevertheless I did it in a very gentle way, and it now looks as it did last night before I went to bed.
so, my question is, did I somehow damage the way my tattoo is going to look after it heals? Am I just overracting since I'm a tattoo newby?
thanks :)

You're probably ok. Your body hasn't really had a chance to develop any real scabs yet, so you probably didn't pull off anything but some loose ink and blood that was sitting on, or just hardly below, your skin.

Your artist didn't tell you to re-bandage it because you're not supposed to. You're supposed to let it breathe whenever possible. A lot of people find their tattoos stuck to their sheets or clothes after the first night. But after that, the tattoo starts drying up a bit, and won't stick to fabrics as much.

No worries. :)

you are absolutely over reacting. pretty much everybody who gets a tattoo like that gets stuck to their clothing the first night or two. there is no way around it unless you cover it back up with saran wrap (which you should not do). just continue to care for it as you should and it will turn out fine. every time i have had my back tattooed it has gotten stuck to my shirt and it is just fine.

Make sure to apply fragrance free lotion several times a day. I used curel on my newest back tattoo and the scab was gone in a week. Also no itching or irritation.

You should be fine. At worst, you may have pulled off a scab and had the tiniest bit of fading, but that can be touched up for minimal or no cost by your tattoo artist.

No...you just got it, so your body hasn't had a real fighting chance at starting to scab over, so this is probably just excess ink bleeding through. Totally normal. I'd suggest that you try to keep yourself from rolling over onto your back though. Possibly propping pillows up on that side so you can't roll over?
