Other religions don't believe in proselytizing, don't think it is important, or even prohibit it. They feel that that the spiritual seeker should find them.

Some branches of Christianity, however, believe that it is their mission - which is why they are called "missionaries" - to spread the word, in order to save everyone who either hasn't heard about it or is following what they perceive to be a false religion.

Christianity is a widely used term to differentiate one's belief in God, whether it be Catholic, prostantant or whatever; China has Christian missionaries that are there to spread the word about God;its just that they're people believe in a different kind of religion.

They have been living under a pretty oppressive gvt now for about a century. Majority of the people are also still pretty poor.

Chinese communist gvt doesnt want outside influences disrupting their ability to dictate over the people. Thankfully, mostly due to economic trading and the world economy, China is opening up and I think soon we will see an end to communism in china.
