The 10 commandments are plagiarized from the Egyptian book of the dead .
The entire book is plagiarized. Poor Christians, they believe what they have been told.
Historians tell us that the Ten Commandments originated from ancient Egyptian religion, and postulate that the Biblical Jews borrowed the concept after their Exodus from Egypt. Chapter 125 of the Book of the Dead (the Papyrus of Ani) includes a list of things to which a man must swear in order to enter the afterlife. These sworn statements bear a remarkable resemblance to the Ten Commandments in their nature and their phrasing. These statements include "not have I defiled the wife of man," "not have I committed murder," "not have I committed theft," "not have I lied," "not have I cursed god," "not have I borne false witness," and "not have I abandoned my parents." The Book of the Dead has additional requirements, and, of course, doesn't require worship of YHWH.

The first time God gave the Ten Commandments the Bible says:
Exo 31:18 And He gave to Moses, when He had made an end of speaking with him upon Mount Sinai, two tablets of the testimony, tablets of stone, written by the finger of God.
GOD did the writing.
God gave Moses the Ten Commandments on tablets, but Moses got so mad when he came off the mountain and saw that the people were worshipping a cow that he broke the tablets. Here is the exact verse which will answer your question as to whether Moses wrote them:
Exo 34:1 And Jehovah said to Moses, Cut out two tablets of stone like the first. And I will write upon the tablets the words that were in the first tablets which you broke.
So GOD wrote the Ten Commandments- not Moses.
The tablets with the Ten Commandments written on them were kept in the Ark of the Covenant that went with the Isrealites everywhere, but we don't know where that is although many people have searched for it and several people claim to have found it. God only knows for sure where it is, but we all have copies of the Ten Commandments even though the copies, of course, aren't "written by the finger of God" as the original was.
Hope this answers your questions. If you have anymore questions I'd be happy to try to answer them. Have a wonderful day! :)

Hopefully you realize that the decimal system had not been invented yet, and that they did not use base 10 for their numbers. A decade was not yet a concept. There had to be some number of commandments. Why not 10? If there had been 9 or 11 would you then believe they were inspired, or would you be making fun of their being 9 or 11 of them? "About 5000 years ago...". So you believe that the 10 Commandments where developed around 3000 BC, when the oldest sections of the Bible are no earlier than 1800 BC, and Moses did not even live until 1500 BC. Only off by 1500 years. OK..... As for the number of commandments, while people usually list the 10 that start the list, there are actually a total of 613 laws that were given to Moses in the one session on Mt Sinai. Do you find a psychological satisfaction in the number 613, or think it has a marketing advantage? Does it rank up there with Doug Adams' "42"? If we do not need 10 commandments, lets see you write a set of understanding and specific laws that over all the major issues in under 10...

I WAS going to be Serious with my answer but seeing as some people are being ****holes with their answers,
Here's mine
God said to Moses, Climb Mt Sinai, I've got something for you, you'll see what it is when you get up here, So moses went up the mountain
Moses had an headache from all that climbing & he told God abot his headache
So God (putting on his doctor hat) said
"Here, Moses, take these two tablets & call me in the morning"
PS theresa smashing movie called "The Ten Commandments" Directed by Cecil B DeMille & Starring Charlton Heston as Moses thast should give you the Hollywood Version of that part of the Bible
The oiutstanding scene is The Crossing Of The Red Sea as The Jews flee into Israel, away from the Egyptian-played by Yul Brynner-Pharoah, Ramses the Thirds soldiers
They all get drowned as the waters of the Red sea close over them ! !

The ten commandments are Exodus 20:2-17(some commandments take up more than one verse).
It is written that the tablets containing the commandments are still in the Ark of the Covenant, wherever that is. There are rumors, but I guess we'll know at the end of all time.

No, God wrote the Ten Commandments. I suggest that yo read Chapter 19 of Exodus to get the story.... then read Exodus 20 and you will find the Ten Commandments that were given to the Israelites. When Jesus came, he said he came not to demolish the Law (The Ten Commandments) but to fulfill the law. We believers, still live under the Ten Commandments also. I hope this helped.

Hebrews 9:4 - which had the golden altar of incense and the gold-covered ark of the covenant. This ark contained the gold jar of manna, Aaron's staff that had budded, and the stone tablets of the covenant.
The Ten Commandments were placed in the Ark of the Covenant. Unfortunately, no one knows the current whereabouts of the covenant.

The Tablets were put into the Ark of the Covnenant, and it was buried on Mount Nebo in the Sinai by Jeremiah the Prophet. The place was unmarked, and will not be revealed until the Second Coming. (II Maccabees 2:5-7)
