Im a drummer for 15 years. I played in bands and Yes!! Its east to learn drums!! You have to take lessons to start off with!! My advice is to get a good teacher... I cannot possibly explain how to be a good drummer here!! You need a talented drummer to show you the basics, like holding the sticks, to tempo control, and basic beats,, Then as you listen to music you can pick up your own style(which is priceless!!) and apply it to you taste!!! I hope this helps!!

I started playing the drums when I was about 12 years old. I am now 35. I never took a lesson. I just watched others play and picked up what I could. I now make my living playing the drums. I can teach anyone how to play a beat, how to hold the sticks and how to read a chart. What I can't teach is how to "feel it". In that respect drumming, I think, is either very easy, or very hard. It just depends on the person. I hope that it turns out well for you. Oh yeah, a new "decent" drum kit will cost you about $1000 here. That would include cymbals, stands, throne, and of course the drums. I don't know what they would cost you were you live.

These "Is it easy to play the..............?" are really stupid questions ! We out here have no idea of your talent, your ear, or IQ.. How can anyone thus give you a correct answer ? I didn't ask these useless questions in the early '60s. I just loved the guitar, bought one ( well, my father paid for it as I was about 13 then ) and learned as much as I could throughout the years. It's that Simp. Ask yourself what is the instrument YOU like, get one and dig into it !! Only you can be the judge of this, not we !! Stop asking which is easy !! They ALL are hard when you get serious about them. Dig ?

Yea it takes Rhythm. I would play my roommates drums while he played the guitar. He would always tell me to practice my repetition. I liked to change up to frequently. i started to pay attention to, lets say, 4 beats, 4 times, then a change, then continue the beat. The actual drummer of his band was amazing. He had a 13 piece drum set, things to beat on everywhere. It takes a while, but with a lot of practice you'll get a lot better. My favorite thing to do, put on a good song you like, and try to replicate the beats. Hip hop beats are the easiest for me. i like techno and tried to use those beats for repetition, but techno's not good for learning the drums. Stick to hip hop and rock. Its tons-o-fun!!

Playing a drum is one of the easiest instrument to learn.. What you really need is a good heart in music as long as you have a rhythm, a heart in music you play.everything can run smoothly..
Practice alot. Just don't rush.. take it easy.. enjoy alot.. then one day you'll realized you're beginning to play your drum in your heart..

If you have played another insturment and know how to read music and follow a beat then yes, I tried it once and got the hang of it in an hour, after that you just need practice to gain speed.

Well, I've heard it put like this: "It's not hard to know HOW to play the drums as it is hard to know WHEN to play them."
