Actually you are just the "perfect color". (there really isn't one, but you will be flattered the most in almost every society because you have tan skin) I have a friend who is tan and when she goes to asian countries she is complimented on her skin color because it is lighter than those in the country. (Most asian countries sell next to no tanning lotions, but sell tons of whitening creams because they want their skin to be white)
But, when she comes to the States everyone compliments on her skin because it is tan and in the U.S. tan skin seems to be the most desirable.
Don't be down on yourself. Almost anyone who has tan skin will wish they had white and anyone with white wishes it was tan because we always seem to want what we don't have.

Personally, I like skin that is well cared for and if it is it will glow and look beautiful no matter what color it is. :)

I would rather be tanned then white because I look better that way. But I can see if you were white and you got a tan you might turn red or orange so maybe you will not look that good. I do not really have pride in my skin color though because ones external appearence is not as important as ones heart and soul.

I used to be self conscious about my tan skin too. Then i realized that if tan skin was bad then all those pale people wouldn't be going tanning all the time and using tanning lotions to get our color skin. Consider yourself lucky, not flawed. There is nothing worse in my opinion than a pair of ghost white legs :)

Tan skin is beautiful. So is white skin. All 'shades' of skin are lovely, especially when worn with the chin tilted a little upward and a smile on the face.

So many people spend hours at the beach and hundreds on products just trying to get the look you have naturally ~ hold your head high and know you are beautiful!

Cheers :-)

I guess that just goes to prove that the grass is always greener on the other side! Just embrace it...you are who you are...I spend crazy money just to get the slightest bit of a tan so be thankful! If it really bothers you that much just use sun block when you're out that way you help prevent sun damage or your skin from getting any darker

I sincerely think that it's best to be whatever color you are! If you are a bit tan, then I think that's fine, and I CERTAINLY don't think it's ugly! I think what's important is to keep your skin healthy - a good diet, proper hygiene, not too much in the way of cosmetics, and plenty of moisturizers if you need them. Clear skin of ANY color is the most beautiful of all!

If you are tan and you want to be white, then you will be unhappy and feel ugly. If you are contented being what you are, then you will feel beautiful and good. It's all in your head.

Tan looks more healthy on a person.

Especially, a cute or naturally good-lookingfemale with a skimpy Bikini tanline.

Yeah, it probably is ugly if you don't take care of yourself. I'm tan and i get compliments all the time-not when I was younger though-maybe it's the Italian in me?..
