By 5-6 six small meals they mean 3 small main meals and then a high protein snack between each meal and before bedtime.

5-6 meals: take all days caloric intake and devide it by 5 or 6 and eat about that much for every meal
e.g. if daily caloric intake should be 1800cal - thats 6 meals of 300cal - i would have 450cal for breakfast, 250cal snack, 350cal lunch, 250cal snack, 300cal dinner and 200cal snack
