How would I know she was only late. I would have left after 30 minutes unless I was at a party or something. In that case, I'd be looking to meet other girls. And, if she showed up later, when I was dancing and flirting with another girl, and got upset, I would not give a hoot.

i'd listen to his explanation. its true that i'd be upset and also worried if he's ok or there's any problem. if it seems to me that it was really an emergency for him, ok i'll consider. i don't want to go that far like ending up etc for this situation.
if i feel that it was not actually an "emergency", ya there will be some bad times between us, but still i'll give him a last chance.

For one I wouldn't wait that long for them. Maybe 30 minutes up to 45 at the most. Then I would wait for them to contact me. If they contacted me soon and let me know that they were in a crash, had an ill family member, kid issues - then I would understand BUT in the age of cell phones its pretty rude if they don't call even if its an emergency.

If they had a good reason I would be upset but still make the most ofhte night and stress that a phone call can go a long way because you were really worried that something happened to them.

To start off. I would not wait that long. If they called to let me know that they were not coming, and had a good excuse, I would forgive them. If they did not, I would tell them to forget my phone number.

my boyfriend does that to me all the goddamn time! just tell him/her how much is disrepects you everytime that they do it. if they cannot respect a time you have placed there for them, then how are they supposed to respect anything else you tell them to do? i dont think its on a dumping basis though, but if they have an excuse that is quite drastic, then i would generally forgive him.
if your a chick, give im the silent treatment, making them fell guilty is one of the best ways to get bakc at them, boys dont understand revenge to the extent females do :P

Emergencies happen ...simply explain how you felt and move on. If it is something that repeatedly happens, perhaps you are with the wrong partner.

If they had an emergency, then forgive them. But if it was something other than an emergency, they could've called.
