Hi honey, and I know they are just trying to make you feel better but your tooth turned black because the nerve in the tooth died and I'm surprised the tooth didn't chip off or cause a lot of pain which would mean it would have to be pulled. The bottom line is you'll nerve a CROWN to be put over the tooth- they file down your existing tooth and replace it with a fake tooth --a crown-- I'm not sure because of the nerve and the blackness if it would qualify for just a veneer covering--but both are not inexpensive---but what is in this life---and for a girl, your FACE is the first thing a guy looks at--and you know what the second is.....good luck to you honey, and see if you can find a dentist that takes monthly payments or if you live in a big city where there is a dental school, you may be able to have it done for free........so if you live within a couple of hours drive, it would be worth your while to check out the dental schools........yes, they will be learning on you....but it will be for free----philadelphia temple dentistry is a great school- so if you live in the NE like me, you can call and they can tell you what they will charge, if anything..........get it done before you wake up and the tooth fell out while you were sleeping and you swallowed it!!!

I think I understand what you're talking about. This happened 4 years ago? You've been walking around that unhappy for 4 years? Sounds like you may need a couple crowns. That'll probably run you about $1600.

I just don't think there are cheap dental options. Do you really want to go to a crappy dentist even if he is cheap?

The only other thing I can think of is if you're near a university that has a dental school, sometimes I think they're looking for patients to practice on. Maybe they'd do it for free. But again, I'm not sure the type of work you'll be getting.

I know it's a lot of money, but your front teeth are pretty important. Get a loan, borrow from your parents, from a friend, whatever you need to do. You'll be so much happier about how you look.

I am not a dentist, but I think your tooth could be fixed by bonding, if it isn't too bad. My mom had hers fixed that way.
Bonding IS the cheap way.
[ Why haven't you been to the dentist for four years? Get busy, young lady! Do you know people who neglect their teeth have a much higher incidence of cardiac disease? ]
Good luck!

go to a dentist and ask him what he can do about it and then decide if you want to pay for that. a dentist can make your teeth look perfect, the only problem it seems for you is money. but that's the price (literally) you'll have to pay to get it done. idk of any other way you could fix it that's inexpensive or a home remedy or something. good luck!

IF THE WHOLE TOOTH IS BLACK, THEN THE NERVE INSIDE HAS LONG SINCE DIED AND A ROT CANAL AND CROWN IS NEEDED. A DENTAL SCHOOL GIVES THE MOST REASONABLE COSTS.
CONTRARY TO POPULAR BELIEF THERE IS NO "FREE" DENTISTRY WHERE ROOT CANALS AND CROWNS ARE CONCERNED.
