Jesus is the son of God, God is all knowing. He knows your every request, even before you ask. Matthew 6:7-8. If that isn't all knowing, I don't know what is. He also knew from that Peter would deny Him, and of course he did three times. How did he know that, you might ask. He is all knowing.

When Christ sent out the 12 apostles, he told them, among other things, “Make lepers clean.” (Mt 10:8) Later, while he was going through Samaria and Galilee, Jesus cured ten lepers in a certain village. Only one of them, a Samaritan, “turned back, glorifying God with a loud voice” and fell upon his face at Jesus’ feet, thanking him for what had been done in his behalf. (Lu 17:11-19) It may also be noted that Christ was in Bethany at the home of Simon the leper (whom Jesus may have cured) when Mary anointed Jesus with costly perfumed oil a few days before his death.
So yeah. He Knew beforehand. Jesus was No Apprentice.

First off, the Lepers were made to wear a certain garment or, wrap so that others would know to stay away. In fact, one leper approached Jesus and when He went to cure Him, all of His Apostles tried to get Jesus not to touch the Leper!

So, yes, He knew about this condition very well!

Jesus' experience, in the flesh, leads us to believe that He knew what His mission was. He accomplished this and in the spiritual rhealm, He now knows all. In the flesh, it was all about reaching out to the sick, poor, weary, downtroddened and so forth. He taught love! He taught forgiveness! So, I think while in the flesh, He had much to deal with in that period of time.

God is omniscient, omnipresent and omnipotent. Jesus is God so yes, he knew what leprosy was and what cancer was - He knows everything, which none of us human beings can admit to if we are honest.

Since he knew what would happen ahead of time, knew what people were thinking, and knew what people would think, I'm guessing he knew at least a little bit about leprosy.

Jesus (pbuh) is great prophet of God. He (pbuh) can do miracle by will of God. Before doing every miracle He (pbuh) asked from God. God created leprosy, cancer and other disease so God can heal these disease for his people.

Jesus (pbuh) and other prophets (pbut) knew only those things which God is taught them. So their (pbut) knowledge is limited but God's knowledge is unlimited.

I am pretty sure he knew what it was. It was talking to the Pharisees in the temple when he was 12 and they were amazed at how much he knew.

But there are still so many lepers - one guy 2000 years ago really doesn't amount to much.

You, on-the-other-hand, can do better than Christ. You can help to cure many and some day eradicate this disfiguring disease.
