going to get a quarter sleeve (wrist to elbow) japanese style dragon with lots of color done on my right arm. above a grand? going to a decent tattoo shop. yes i will ask the artist but i'm just trying to get a general idea ahead of time. thanks!

Save alot of money and get a good one for one-two hundred by a prison artist. Of course first you have to get locked-up,and then be sure you can see some of his recent work, and don't stress about all those guys looking at your rump when you walk by and saying 'fresh-meat'.

If you want a cheaper one and still have a international quality, you can visit grown country like Indonesia, Malaysia. They're can give you about 500-1000$. Its cheaper. And about design, if you want japanese style, buy some Japanese tattoo magazine like "tattoo tribal" or "tattoo lifestyle" great design will you find there.

depends on what area you live in. if you're going for a nationally recognized artist, you'll probably pay anywhere $1500 to $2500. a local "good" artist will set you back anywhere from $1000 to $1500.
the nice thing, though, is that this will probably be divided into two or three sittings, depending on the detail needed.

The shop i go to charged 175 an hour. I tip usually 20%, but i usually tip a lot more when im satisfied with the work. Look into several shops in your area, find one that is clean. Talk to the artists and they will let you know.
