Start" > "Control Panel" > "Date, Time, Language & Regional Options" > "Regional and Language Options" > "Advanced" tab > (select from Code page conversion tables) > "Apply" > "OK"
otherwise you can type by using alt + numbers (to be digited on the rightside of yr computer, not at the top of yr keyboard)
Alt 141 gives you ì
Alt 161 gives you í
Alt 164 gives you ñ

I think you can go to the control panel and select the language for your computer.
