Ok, so I use to date this girl for over 3 years, and now we don't talk anymore. She lives (no BS) directly across the street from me. We used to be great friends, but since we broke up we haven't really talked and kind of had a falling out. Most of it was of my doing because I had started drinking again when I promised her I wouldn't. But now I am leaving for Marine Corps. Bootcamp, and I am going to be in the infantry which means I could get sent to Iraq. I want to see her before I go, and try to make ammends. But the last time I tried, she gave me the "i don't ever want to talk to you" look. Should I at least try to fix our friendship, or should I just let her slip completely out of my life in general?

Write her a letter telling her how yu fel and that youre sorry. Tell her youre not expecting her to answer but hope she will forgive you for what youv'e done. Tell her you don't want to go to war with any bad feeling between you.
If still no response- even a smile... then just know you tried by doing the right thing and move on.
Please be very careful! My son in law is in Iraq now - my prayers go with you!!

Try to talk to her one last time, and tell her where you're going. If she still cares, she'll listen. You're about to set out on a true adventure, I wish you good luck:)

Write her a letter and tell her how you feel. Don't forget to apologize to her for breaking your word. Good luck.
