It's gonna make a big difference if it's original. Depends on how early the production run was. The early '65s came stock with the 260 small block v-8. Mid-year Ford bored out the 260 to make them 289c.i.d. Same block, bigger bore. They went from 3.8 to 4.0. The 260 was rated at 164bhp and the 289/1bbl at 200bhp. The newer production 289 was fitted with a 2bbl and gave 225bhp and a 4bbl option with 271bhp. Not bad considering it's a 2600 lb car.

I've answered this several times, but here it is again.

They had 200 hp with the 2 barrel [C code], 225 hp with 4 barrel [A code] and 271 hp[ K code] HiPo and the Shelby GT350 had 306 hp using a modified K code HiPo.These are all factory horsepower ratings for the 65-67 289 cu in engine.

There was even one sold with the 289 K code and Paxton supercharger rated at 390 hp!

These were all gross hp readings from the factory

Toolman made a couple of errors, so I'll give you the early models as they vary, first you have the 170 ci, 105hp U code, then the 260 2v 164 hp Fcode, then the 289 4v D code with 210 HP. These are called the 64 1/2 early models and the codes can be found in the serial number and stamped on the top of the fenders., it's the last letter.

There is a lot more information on these Mustangs in the group below.

The 4-barrel car (K-code) was officially rated at 271 HP Gross, and the GT350 version was rated at 306 HP Gross.

The 4-speed car's got more horsepower to the ground than automatic car's. So net horsepower will vary from there.

Only way to be sure is to put it on a Dyno and have it checked.

I'm making big money with binary option, I use this software ( http://forexsignal.kyma.info ) My software delivers signals only when the five indicators (bp trend filter, market deviation, price pattern, rel. price impulse, stat. price range) are aligned together and we have an extremely high confidence rate, it must then co-exist with my proven secret strategy before a trade be detected… as a result, we get a guaranteed Highly-Accurate ’80-100%’ Signal.
