Well, it depends on how old you are.
If you are 16 to like about 19, you talk to them privately.
If you are 20 to like about higher, you just go right out and say it.

You say, "Mom, Dad, I've decided to join the Navy." If you're already over 18 you march into a Navy recruiting office and enlist. If your not 18 yet,or you're still in High School, then you wait until you are 18 and you have finished High School, then you march into the recruiting office and enlist.
Nothing Hard about it, and they don't have to like or be convinced. Once you finish School and are 18 the decision is yours, and yours alone.

Well just tell them that you decided to join the navy and that your mind is made up . They'll have to respect that you are an adult and that you can make your own decisions . By the way I'm shy and nervous to so don't feel bad .

If you're really certain about it, do your research so you can be prepared to answer any questions they have. Take them to the recruiter's office so you can all talk together.
The most important thing is that you make the decision for yourself. Listen to their concerns, but ultimately you have to decide what you're going to do.
You can start by really briefly just stating that "I'm thinking about joining the Navy" Leave some pamphlets around the house. Start training for basic so they know you're not just joking around, you're starting to prepare. Help out around the house and prove that you're maturing, and this isn't just a whim.

If you are serious about joining the Navy, congratulations. Tell your parents the benefits of joining the Navy and the bright future it could give you. Good Luck!

What i did, tell them that your looking to take responsibility and some tough lessons in your life to become a mature adult. Ask your recruiting office, they might have some pamphlets for you to show and some tips for you to "break" it to your folks. If your in the DEP, then youve got some time to think about it. Hey, they might actually be proud of you!

well it is really easy all you have to do is tell dem you are ready to leave da nest and they will understand. They will probably be happy for you cause you are leaving. They wont be happy about da part that you are joining da military knowing it is a war going on.
