Do police departments receive additional funds (from the government, etc..) if they have college educated officers hired?

My husband wants to know.

No.

Police departments receive funding largely through local taxes. Some departments pay more to officers who have degrees, and some have degrees as a requirement, but the department itself makes no more money for hiring degreed officers.

Never heard of that but most departments pay officers with degrees more money, they also pay for college. That is how I got my M.S.
There are organizations and foundations that will provide police training in specific law enforcement subjects. Anti racism/hate groups, the movie and recording industry in counterfeiting detection, the same for trademark infringement stuff and others.

the departments themselves do not get anything. some departments will pay their officer for having a degree but that is it.
