I do not support the war in Iraq. I do not support the defamation of our constitution that has happened in our country in the last 21 years. But I do wish to have a good career with stable benefits and wages. And the discipline could do me some good to. My question....Do I sound like someone that you would mind being in a foxhole with? Is there anyone in the service that shares my beliefs?

I am against the war in Iraq and did a tour there. The thing is if you join you give your word to obey the orders of the president of the United States. Your oath supercedes your personal views. If you can not live with that like I can then do not join. Secondly though and more important you will board that C-17 because your battle buddies need you not because you believe in the democracy for Iraq thing.

Well one thing is not supporting the war and another is not supporting the troops. If u do join u will only get out what u put in. So do your best for your country, try officer school! that way ur voice will be better heard and u can voice your opinions with better results. You might love it, it will change ur life forever. Note I did not enlist for reasons similar to yours but actually the opposite and I wouldnt mind you voicing ur opinions as long as I knew for sure that u would give ur life for me or any of our buddies and viceversa. Beware of what you feel. Hope this helps, good luck!

your personal beliefs won't mean a thing when your in. If you doubt that you can follow the orders your given, please reconsider. It's not an easy life, especially in a combat unit. If you don't have the discipline to do a job you don't want to for a cause you don't believe in, it's going to be hell.

Read what Satcomgrunt wrote: this is the very crux of what it's all about. I can't believe I forgot that, I'm getting to far out of the trench, I'm off to call my Buddies.

Many in the military share your beliefs, they just can't and don't act on them. If you can seperate your politcal and personal beliefs from the military you'd be just fine.

Remember if you take the oath of enlistment you're promising to follow the orders of those appointed over you to include the President. Republican, Democrat, popular war, unpopular war you follow all orders.

There is a camaraderie in the military that you will not understand until you are in it, but my advice to you would be to avoid it if you don't believe in what they are doing right now.

My suspicion is that you are trolling to find overall opinion, but you won't realize that people are just trying to be helpful. Why would anyone want to join the military in time of war if they don't believe in the reason for the war? You are faking this question.

Don't join the military unless you are prepaired to go to war, we have too many deserters as it is. I don't agree with the war either, but I was in before it started and I honored my committment, but not everyone does that.

If you're going to double guess the President, then kindly avoid the military. Things are hard enough without fighting beside a whining little twit who wants a cushy job but was dumb enough to join the military.

You do not have to support the war, but you do have to have honor and integrity in your country to serve. You will however have to defend your country even in times that you disagree for the reasons that you are fighting.

i dont want to be mean but if you dont support the war, you dont support our troops. they believe in this cause enought o die for it. you are going to go and tell them they are believing in everything wrong? then join and say your there for money? you swear to obey the pres and constitution. if you dont believe in either then dont join. the military is for people willing to ensure that this country is safe. i would not want you next to me when im willing to die for my country and you are an enemy of my country.

Do our Troops a favor and DON'T JOIN, Don't even think about joining.... If I was sitting next to you and we were at Basic or working or at WAR I would club you over the head...
