last summer I held 2 full time jobs and worked 80 hrs almost every week. What made it worse was one was a morning job and one was a night job so my average schedule was 4:30am-1pm then 4pm-midnight so I had a 3 hour break inbetween jobs that cut back on my sleep a great deal.

My husband works in air conditioning and with the weather as hot as it is here it ws nothing for him to work a 100 hour work week. Leaving at 7:00 in the morning and not getting home until after midnight and when on call working 7 days a week. 70 seems like nothing. He can get that in 4 days.

When we were doing 7 days , 10 + hours a day , during the hot summer . . .
To get a project done before school was due to open .
Far scarier , is the number of hours they work interns / doctors when they first assign them to the emergency department .
If people had a clue , they would probably Never go to the ER , even if their leg was nearly cut off .
Nothing like docs without sleep working on sick folk .
