Because they never understood the background and ideals of the society in which he matured and the ideals which he himself espoused as a Jewish man. In essence, they takw him out of context, which is essentially, a mistake in understanding

Good question. There is an old cliche in many Christian churches "be patient, God is not finished with me yet" and this is often the reason. However, many Christians are not allowing God to work in their lives to finish the work He started when they were born again.
Prez, Jesus was just as human as both you and me. We can't use that as an excuse.
p_l_gray, "Judge" the unsaved feel we are doing that all the time. We should try looking at ourselves and seeing what the world sees.
roofoverhead, you hit the nail on the head. Many who call themselves are "religious" when they should be "Christians"
Mike, no one can without God's help and many just depend on their own power rather than trusting God.
Ham, I am glad He ended up the way He die, Risen Son of God Defeater of Death, Saviour King of King and LORD of lords.

This "Jewish Boy" can be your LORD. Just look at Him and not His followers. One day you will bow and confess Him as your LORD. Do it this side of death when you can do it of your own will.

I apologise for some of the answers below. I hope we all become more like Him.

Jesus is among the creme de la creme. Few of his "followers" have any real idea of what he is all about, which is transcending our finite human limits. Rules and dogma are not Jesus' main concern; love, compassion and forgiveness are,as is "do no harm". Most especially NOT in the name of God.

Jesus is God, the only perfect being ever to walk the face of earth. To follow after Christ is to be open to being changed into the likeness of him. Yes, a lot of people are pretty far off from what they are supposed to be striving towards as Christians. Now, there are good people who are truly seeking to be like Jesus, none of us are perfect and none of us have the potential to ever be perfect. We just have to keep trying and doing our best anyway.

We're supposed to be like Him. We're human and fail but we are working towards becoming more like Jesus.

Who says that they aren't?

Are you the authority on every Christian in all the world...do you feel confident in making such a blanket statement?

Are all Atheists so narrow minded and stupid?

Just wondering.....Blessings!
