Yes, we should be a good example to our children, showing them in our actions, kindness, morals, self control, gentleness and etc. If you tell your children not to yell but are yelling at everyone, than they are not being taught anything except that you are a hypocrite.

My son turned 3 last month and at that age their brains are like little sponges. They soak up everything. I have pre-school books for him, but he learns more from hearing everyday conversation.

Yes!

Children do what they see, they believe their parents are God's gift to the world and will do and emulate everything. Mum and Dad are their windows to the world. If mum says one thing but does another... it's what she DOES that the child will remember.

YES!!! Especially at young ages...at young ages they learn by play and seeing...they don't learn by having someone sit them down at trying to explain something to them...what they see is what they do!!!

Well, if they are 'catching' algebra and how to do a well researched report by just hanging out in your home, can I send my kids over?

i think kids pick up more on what they see, than what you teach them. i know that my little sister always picked up on those bad words you tried not to say to loudly. then you would laugh so she thought it wasfunny. you know the story.
