I have a correction in your statement...
Those men Know exactly what they are doing when they become annoying to us women who say "no thanks".
They are actually idiots that don't want to take no for an answer. I am going through a very simular situation, but I'm tired of being "nice" about it. The way I see it is, he isn't "respecting me" by taking no for the answer, he is only going to be trouble if I give in.
I have "given in" before and it was never a fairy tale ending.
Go with your gut and tell him to get lost, then if he continues you can get him for stalking or harrasment.

Alas, for better or worse, women bring some of it on themselves.
How?
Some DO give in, and they do go on the dates and they do have a good time and they do get married and they do live happily ever after.
Indeed some women require repetition verging on begging to even become interested.
Remember the cliche: Its a woman's perogative to change her mind.
Its a man's perogative to try to get her to change it.
You may find it annoying, but the persistance is generally why humanity still exists. If it were left exclusively up to women to initiate dates, the species would never have survived.

I dont think that half of them get it when you tell them the firts time that you want to be friends and by the 5 time your ready to hire a drive by. lol jk but most of the guys dont get it but the other ones do get iit and they end up beirng your really good friends
