Oh please. I bet every one of these women gives their children pop EVERY ONCE IN AWHILE. Get off your pedistals. Of course it's okay to give a child a treat of pop once in awhile. Women who are answering-Have your kids never had a cookie or candy? Get real. You are probably all overweight with terrible diets who like to pretend to be healthy.

It's okay to give pop in a sippy cup sometimes. Depriving kids is mean.

The only soda any of my children got in a sippy was flat ginger ale with gatorade (home made pedialyte) There is nothing good about soda in a sippy cup plus because it is carbonated it seeps out the top and makes a mess

No judgement from me! My kids sometimes have cookies and sweets and soda.

The bad thing about soda in a sippy is that if they are sucking on it a lot they are bathing their teeth in sugar solution. My dentist told me that damage starts happening after a few minutes. He scared me so much I now clean my kids' teeth every time they have something sugary!

Everything in moderation is fine. Kids who get no fat or sugar seem to end up craving it. And if everyone else at a party or whatever is having a soda, why shoudl your toddler miss out?

My daughter at 5 LOVES soda...but my son at nearly 3 will only drink water. I don't think I did anything differently, just different tastes.

I have given my daughter a small amount in a sippy cup. Obviously not on a regular basis, but I have partly to keep her from grabbing ours and spilling it, because it can stain unlike the things she normally drinks. But you have to be careful because carbonated drinks will still leak out of sippy cups something awful sometimes lol.

I think a child who still uses a sippy cup is too young to drink soda other than a sip here and there. There's absolutely nothing redeeming about soda, and it's a huge contributer to the child obesity problems sweeping the U.S. and other countries.

It's ok for a treat once in a while. I wouldn't give them soda at bedtime. It could be bad for their teeth so you should wipe or use a baby toothbrush afterwards. A lot of parents answering this question will immediately say it's horrific, but at the same time they are shoveling over processed chicken nuggets, super fatty french fries and sugary cookies into their tykes' mouths!

not in a sippy but through a straw at mcdonalds or out to eat somewhere because not all places have other options. we only go out like once a month. It's not good for teeth regardless if its sprite or diet.

I have when they were sick. Clear soda like sprite or 7up to settle a stomach. Other than that its water, milk or juice in a sippy.

when my son was 2 I gave him some diet sprite in a sippy when he was sick. Poor thing could only keep that down...not even pedialyte.
