One week if it's refrigerated.

Well, it should be as there is not meat in it right?
A jar that is bad would/should have a bubble in the lid like it wants to explode - the same with cans.
If this was kept at an even temperature and there is no meat in it then it is probably fine. When you open it just take a sniff and small taste and that will probably tell you much more than I can.
From now on I w/suggest marking dates on stuff you know you probably aren't going to be using soon.

First of all, make sure the jar is still sealed. Second, marinara sauce is made out of tomatoes, which have a high acid content. In order for food to spoil, it needs certain things. We "food safety certified" people know this as FAT-TOM. That stands for Food, Acidity, Time, Temperature, Oxygen, and Moisture. Bacteria, which is what causes foodborne illness, must have all of these things to grow. "Acidity" in this case means "lack of acidity". Foods with high acid content (like tomatoes) last much longer than food with low acid content.

Your marinara sauce, if it is still sealed, has High Acidity, and Lack of Oxygen. It should be fine.

push on the top of the jar lid. If it moves toss it. Otherwise it should be good for 2-3 years. I use jarred sauces up to a year after expiration date. Its sealed what could go wrong?

It could have mold after a year if stored in a moist refridgerator. If the jar was vaccum sealed, i wouldn't worry about it. Taste it to make sure it tastes okay and not moldy or gross. If you opened it at an earlier date, it probably isn't good. Don't make a habit of storing these things for a year and then deciding to eat them.

Refridgerated tomatos start tasting tinny after a day. Marinara probably has enough salt to sit forever.

check the lid if it vacum sealed press on the top of the cap if the cap pops the sauce is no good if not open the jar and look and smell but do not taste, till you boiled it first, to be safe if you in doubt trow it out

If it is unopened, it is probably ok if there is no date.

But, after you open it, you are only supposed to store it in the fridge for 3 days.

open it and if it doesn't smell bad go ahead and taste it. If it's a vacuum sealed jar it's at least good for a year depending on the temperature of your storage area

As long as it hasn't been out in the sun, hasn't yet been opened, and hasn't been subjected to excessive heat, it should be ok. Make sure the safety button pops when you open it to be sure it is still airtight; otherwise its similar to a canned good.

If the seal kind of pops when you open the jar, I'd say you are okay. If it's watery or split, throw it out.
