How much should I expect to pay to have my engagement ring sent out by the jeweler to get cleaned in that machine to buff the scratches out? It's white gold and I never take it off so it's not looking its brightest and I'd like it to get that sparkle back for the wedding pictures. There's just too much contrast between it and my wedding band. Thanks!

I don't need the stone out because of the setting I can clean it easily with a toothbrush. It's just the band is looking worn.

He got it from overstock.com so I don't think that's an option. But thank you!

Future Mrs. B, If I were you, I would take your ring to a jewelry designer. They have the tools at their store that can polish the scratches out with a polishing wheel while you wait. Then , what you mean by polishing the stone is the toothbrush clean, as you mentioned but this time use "toothpaste". Really, it does work really good. Anyway, bring both rings to the designer and he/she will polish to a perfect shine to match your wedding band. If the designer is good, some will not charge you so you will be tempted to come back. Since you bought your rings on overstock.com....I advise you never to send it back for any reason....but have your local jeweler test the stones every 6 months or so to see if they have become loose. Sometimes they might charge for that. Anyway, good luck and congrats.

The most common and the precious metals are the 14K and also the 18K gold whether they are just white, just yellow or evenany other color. The 14K gold is also believed to be somewhat stronger than 18K gold and willalso keep the stones more secured. For just getting best and also the highest quality rings, you just have to look for some best jewelers. Here is quick glance at top engagement ring designers.

It depends on where you purchased your ring. The jeweler that my hubby purchased ours from does not charge anything for the ring to be cleaned and any maitenance was included in the price as long as I have it inspected every 6 months.

You should check with the jeweler where you purchased it from, I wouldn't think it would be that expensive!

what you need is your ring re-rhodiumed. Go to a jeweler who has a shop in house. It should cost around $30.00 and they can have it done in an hour or so. If you have a Jareds in your area, go there.
