My PC is infected with SCVHOST.exe and I can't get rid of it. I thought that svchost.exe (note the different spelling) is a normal thing the computer executes, and scvhost.exe is one and the same thing, or is it?

I logged on the safe mode to access Tools > Folder Options but I couldn't. I pressed control+alt+del and said the task manager was disabled as well. I got an AVG anti-virus (unupdated because that PC is used for offline purposes) and scan the pc only to produce nothing as a result. I run gpedit.msc and msconfig but I couldn't too.

What will I do?

Try the NOD32 anti-virus. It had removed the virus on my pc just like yours. I'll send you copy if you like. Just msg me.

You have a virus in your PC. The virus block the admin stuff, like regedit, CTR+ALT+DEL, and anything.
You must enter the windows in safe mode, and while your waiting you must press the shift key.. to hold all the start-up program running. after that you must scan your pc using NAV in safemode..

GO to http://housecall.trendmicro.com and run the scan. If you have the sCvhost virus it will find and kill it.

I am surprised AVG didn't ? However, there is not any 100% out there..
here is the information page on this one

Once clean You should also get all the Microsoft updates for your computer as there are some that directly deal with this one.
