I have been in the Naval Reserve since 1993. For the most part it has been great. I got to travel in Japan and Europe, but those assignments are rare now. The pay is not bad, but it depends on your rank and time in service.

There is a chance of deployment; I was deployed to Kuwait two years ago and am eligible for mobilization again. But the pay on deployments is very good overseas.

Take heed to my advice. Do not go Guard/Reserve. You will regret it. Reserve is for people who already have careers and just want to serve thier country. If you do not have an established career with good pay and benefits it is not for you.

while you are in, you will have more respect, but once you get out, you are a ''puzzy'' I recommend Army etc.

It's not worth it. Worst case scenario is that you die.
