I am 25, 5'5" and 115 lbs. I am not trying to go on a diet, but I need some advice on how to eat healthier and keep my figure. I don't want to shop for jeans in a bigger size every month lol.
The problem is, I work at a gas station where 99% of the store is sugary, fatty, salty junk food. And the sad part is, most of it appeals to me. I try to eat healthy (because I feel better when I do) but I usually end up overeating or oversnacking later to make up for the craving for the junk food, and then I feel bloated, tired and cranky after I eat the junk food.
(Example: I had fruit and lowfat yogurt for breakfast this morning.. but later I got really hungry and stuffed myself at Taco Bell, which my body is telling me I shouldn't have done.)
How are some ways that you guys stop craving junk food so much?
Please do not tell me I have an eating disorder. I simply want to take better care of myself by eating better foods so I can be alert during my full-time job and my college classes.

I will not look right if I gain 10 pounds. When I did, it went straight to my stomach area and I got an unsightly thing known as a muffin top. So no, I will not gain 10 pounds just to appear healthy to go "by the book." It is bad enough that our culture judges people by appearance. I refuse to go along with pre-set weight standards just to be accepted.

Not all gas stations have just junk food. They also sell sandwiches which are healthy if you get the ones that don't have alot of stuff in them.If you want you can buy a bottle of water, lemonade or one of those Snapple drinks to drink instead of the sodas.I do think bringing your own snacks is a good idea.Bring like a Special K bar.Eating one of those doesn't make you hungry for a few hours and I should know cause I eat them from time to time.As for with going to places like Taco Bell instead of getting the unhealthy like stuff just get the stuff that you know is healthy on the menu.I for example only eat the junk stuff at places like Burger King three times each month. The other times I go there I usually get a salad or whole white meat chicken nuggets.I also suggest going to eat at Subway cause they got a separate menu of sandwiches that are okay to eat and they also have healthy sides like apple slices, raisins and yogurt. As for the drinks at those places get the fruit juice, lemonade *exspically if it has lite in it* or water.

Try having healthy snacks readily available.

If you are hungry you will want to eat.

While fruit and low fat yoghurt ate a healthy choice, they are quickly digested and leave you feeling hungry sooner.

Try adding some wholegrain cereal, this takes longer to be digested so keeps us feeling satisfied for longer.

Alternately, have smaller meals more often, so you never actually get to the craving stage.

Eg, yogurt for breakfast, but fruit for morning tea, instead of both for breakfast then craving junk mid-morning.

I take a bag of almonds and other nuts I like to work. They are good for you and really hold you over. Then I'm not as tempted to eat the junk.

If you want to restrain yourself from bad foods just pretend you have a food allergy to it. Tell yourself you'll go into anaphylectic shock if you eat it. Works every time.

First of all, at 115 you are underweight by about 10 lbs...chew gum, brush your teeth, bring healthier snacks to work...
