Is the war in Iraq illegal and immoral?

First Lt. Ehren Watada said;

"I refuse to be silent any longer. I refuse to be party to an illegal and immoral war against people who did nothing to deserve our aggression. My oath of office is to protect and defend America's laws and its people. By refusing unlawful orders for an illegal war, I fulfill that oath today." - U.S. Army First Lt. Ehren Watada

There is a war in Iraq? More like a neo-colonialist invasion. Any war is illegal and immoral, including that in Afghanistan. I agree and support First Lt. Ehren Watada, because such people have enough conscience to know what's right from wrong, and chose what's right, regardless of the consequences. There are people out there though that would disagree with me.

The three open objectives were to find WMDs, kill or capture Saddam and to establish democracy in Iraq.

Now did they find WMDs ?

There are reports that suggest that US was fully knowing before aggression that there were no evidence of any kind of WMDs

KILL SADDAM........

Yes .... mission accomplished.

Democracy in Iraq ?

While People being killed every day and country in a mess, the idea of democracy has a remote chance to take a shape.
Therefore this objective is also not attainable.

With so many conspiracies to the credit of CIA, it is not very unbelievable that the real objectives of the war were different from what were propagated by the US.

Now fortunately people like Lt Ehren are coming out to speak the truth.

Remember you can't keep truth a hostage. One day it is bound to come out.

One day.......

Till then we can wait only for the brave people like Lt. Ehren Watada to speak out against their ERRING LEADERSHIP.

Yes I agree with First Lt Ehren Watada that the war in Iraq is illegal and immoral war.But US government obtained a legal action from UNO because of their power and they invited other allies such as UK,Australia,Japan,Soth Korea etc.Their reason for searching WMD was a great lying..They are liars. They did not find it in Iraq.By attacking Iraq they killed so many innocent people and destructed so many historical buildings. They have made a miserly life and difficulties for Iraqi people..They invaded Iraq against with the human rights
as has been declared. The reason for building democracy in Iraq is nonsense.Democracy can not be built by force.of foreign forces.Democracy should grow from within..US government is a cruel government. They made agression for oil ,but they made a false reason for WMD.People's money used for killing mankind in other country can not be accepted by a good moral people..US soldiers should be used for internal affairs and not for aggression..Bush administration is responsible and accountable for restoring a unity, security and rebuilding good economy in Iraq...Bush should give freedom to the people of Iraq for selecting their own government.

ILLEGAL : Because it was started against the United Nations resolution.
IMMORAL : because it never had any basses from the first place. There were No WMD. Saddam was executed with out providing proper Justice and they have made sure that there be never any Democracy ever in the country.
How many have you ever heard about sectarianism in Iraq before the WAR.?

We already had victory in Iraq. U.S. accomplished the goals we originally stated:
1. Check Iraq to ascertain finally and or sure whether Iraq had WMD.
2. Depose Saddam (and capture or kill him if possible).
3. Give the Iraq's a shot at becoming a democracy.
U.S. accomplished all of these goals.

The only way we can achieve "defeat" is by remaining there with totally unrealistic expectations to;
1. Force Iraq to become a "democracy".
2. Force Iraq to continue being one nation.
3. Make the Sunni's and Shia get along.
4. Make Iraq into a U.S. ally.

The U.S. is not at war with Iraq. The war ended four years ago. What's going on now is a military occupation. The objective is to establish an oil colony.

Is it immoral? That's a judgement call but I'd say it is. The U.S. invaded a country and overthrew a government which was not a threat to our security.

Is it illegal? Congress makes the laws. They authorize it so technically it's legal.

As for Watada, he may be morally right to oppose the occupation but he has no right to refuse orders. He gave up that choice when he took his oath. He should go down in flames.

The Alliance forces (mainly the USA), went to Iraq for many reasons. The main are :
- Establish democracy
-Remove weapons of mass destruction

Currently, the main results are:
- The loss of many thousands of innocent lives beside troops and fighters losses, and still ongoing.
-Missing of safety and security from most of Iraq parts despite the presence of the most powerful force in the world
-The expensive financial cost of of the main war and it's related current situations that has been paid and still on going.

and my questions are:
-Did that war assists in establishing respectable democracy in Iraq.
-Did the Alliance find the weapons of mass destruction-
-Did the war result of prosperous and secured life for Iraqis

Those are the main outlines that I can see in the Iraq issue, and my conclusion is that the war is distructive and of high price that exceeds the benifits of it's objectives, and the main disaster is the loss of thousands of innocent lives who were supposed to continue their lives if that war did not take place.

Peace and peaceful methods are the reasonable bases to solve problems and I am sure that many of the USA citizines and officials are in favor of peace, not war.

All war is immoral in that innocent people die in the collateral damage.

Legal is a relative term, since international law is never agreed upon universally.

The war in Iraq is pointless and shameful, and those who initiated it have to live with the guilt of what they did for the rest of their lives.

All wars are illegal and immoral, but we still have them don't we? However! Have you ever stopped to think about what the consequences would be in every major war if we hadn't had it? Japan, Germany, and Italy for instance! Think about it! Worrying, isn't it? Conscientious objectors are fine but in some cases it's like meekly kneeling down on the block, so some bully can cut your head off! What do you think?
