I'm getting married soon and my mom said my aunt was planning a bridal shower for me? What is a bridal shower, what do you do at a bridal shower?

Traditionally a shower was for the women in the family to "shower" the bride with gifts. Mostly gifts would be hosuehold items to start you new life in your new home. Showers can be small with just the family and bridal party or can have all the women on the guest list invited.

Basically you will socialize, eat, open gifts and some showers include games. For me the eating, socializing and gifts take up enough time that games aren't always necessary.

Just relax and have a good time!

it's basically the same as a baby shower....you have your family and friends over and they bring gifts, mostly pertaining to you getting married. you'll probably get gifts for the house as well as for the honeymoon like cami's, thongs, etc. you also play bridal games and you have food. it's really fun and a good way to bond and kinda get your mind of things for a little while. congrats on your wedding!

It is a way for family and friends to help the bride and groom to start their life together. They buy them gifts that they can use when they buy a house as most couples start out with nothing. It is a way to help them get started.

There is usually food and games that get played at them and it is away for girls/ladies to just hang out and have a good time with the bride to be.

Congrats!

It's a time to get together with your family and friends before the wedding. You get gifts and some people play games. You eat and have a really good time. You usually get a lot of sexy things for your wedding night.

A shower is a party one gives for the purpose of showering some needy person, not a member of ones family, with gifts. All brides and expected mothers are presumed to be needy. As guest of honor you pretty much do as the hostess tells you, and maybe help her out if she seems to need it. Your aunt shouldn't be giving a shower for someone from her own family. While you may shake down your friends on behalf of others families, it's greedy looking to shake them down on behalf of your own.

It's to wish the bride well, and to share in her happiness. You eat, give gifts, play games, share wedding stories, and have a good time.
