The sheep go with Jesus and the goats are consigned to the everlasting fire prepared for the Devil and his angles. Everlasting, in this instance is from the Greek aionios. Mat.25:46 Jesus spoke in one sentence of everlasting (aionios) punishment and life eternal (aionios). There are those who assume that since the righteous will be given everlasting life, that sinners will be punished for the same time period. But that assumption cannot be reconciled with the statement that those cast into the lake of fire perish. They suffer death. The second death. Rev.2:11, 20:6&14, and 21:8. It is eternal punishment, not eternal punishing.

Genesis 19:24, Sodom and Gomorrah are utterly destroyed. Consumed by fire. Jude7 describes these cities as " suffering the vengeance of the eternal (aionios) fire." These cities are not burning today. Why? It is not the fire that is eternal, but the effect of the fire.

The eternal aspect of the (aionios) fire is its everlasting effect, NOT how long it burns.

Well, physically, nothing can burn forever. The universe won't last forever. On a metaphysical level, I suppose if the soul can last forever, then it could burn forever. But I don't think there would be any physical pain attached. The pain would be in the knowledge that one is permanently separated from God. Some say that those who reject God here on Earth are already in hell, whilst those who embrace Them are already in Heaven. My own observations support this theory. But what do I know? Maybe we'll never know. Certainly, if there were no God we'd never know. Because when we died our "soul" would cease to exist.

The wages (or payment) of sin is death.
According to Satan, "you shall not surely die"...but God has stated absolutely that "the soul that sinneth, it shall die."
The gift of God is eternal life.
Now, why would God give you eternal life, if your soul is already eternal, and the main question is "where will you spend eternity"?

OH, and I love the one about how hell is actually "separation from God"...
The thing is, NOTHING can be separated from God, and still exist...so, "separation from God" is, essentially, DEATH!!

Ahhh, well...I suppose that, for those who have not put their trust in Jesus, they'll find out when God calls them to their judgment. For those who have trusted Him, as I have, and, I believe, as you have, also...it doesn't really matter. We DO have the gift of eternal life...with our Lord!!

yup...... im bringing lemonade......when i reveil my master plan... im hopin the devil falls over dead and i can take over....then we will all shout..." the roof. the roof.... the roof is on fire"
i think that you ask a very simplistic question. and then you place a lot of scripture behind it that i would have to think anyone who believes has read....so what was your point? you could have added 13 or 14 more verses in there and still not get the point that i think you are shooting for. the fact that you ask a very basic question and then back it with alot of "study" makes me think you are trying to seem more intelligent than you are.

There is no eternal life in Hell. Once you got burn you will be no more but burn to ashes and become dust to be eaten by the snake (evil) to serve as his food.

Hell and the hell-fire is fictional, and was made up by the people who invented religion to scare people into believing what they wanted them to believe.
(Believe or burn.)

Amazing how many people react against hell when it is brought up.

I guess for most, since they don't believe in it, they can't go.

It is a lie to claim that myth is truth. The affirmation of an ability to know about the existence of a good one in Heaven at war with an evil one cast down to and ruling over Earth is a fraud that follows from the lie that myth is truth. Conservative ideological authorities perpetrate this fraud inorder to be able; to make threats against the life and or afterlife of anybody who does not submit to their authority; and to extort from communities of faithful believers tithes and offerings in exchange for a lifelong indoctrination in a standard of conduct that these same ideological authorities proclaim to be the discovery of the truth about the will of a good one in Heaven at war with and evil one cast down to and ruling over Earth. Extortion based on threats made against the life and or afterlife of others and or a fraudulent affirmation of an ability to know about the existence of a good one in Heaven at war with an evil one cast down to and ruling over Earth should be considered a crime against humanity because in committing acts of extortion based on fraud that follows from the lie that myth is truth these ideological authorities lead communities of faithful believers to have a low esteem of self and world that is not conducive to happiness and good health.
