I got a speeding ticket in Bedford New York state. Is it better to go to court or is it better to simply pay the ticket?

Always go to court!!! Dress in your best clothing (think church with Grandma, not Club with your friends)

The worst thing that can happen is you have to pay the fine. You may be able to have the charges reduced, or get a deferred judgment allowing you to avoid having the ticket on your record (and the resulting rise in insurance costs)

Be polite and respectful. The judge sees a lot of fools every day. If you act like you have sense, you have a good chance of coming out ahead!

Good luck!

Even if you go to court, you'll pay the ticket. The policeman always wins (at least this happened to 3 of our tickets :)

If you where speeding, better to just pay the fine. Don't waste, the courts time with BSing trying to get out of it.

Pay the ticket. You were speeding, weren't you? They are hard to beat.

lawyer will cost the same as the ticket and you won't have to go to court and it won't go on your record
